I like to switch it up a bit when I take a dog for a walk. I typically walk only 1 dog at a time so that we can enjoy our time together. I like to brisk walk/light jog for a bit before switching it up to a more leisurely activity. If the pup stops to smell the roses, I gladly stop and let them explore their surroundings. I keep a close eye on the adventurous pups who like to eat everything on the ground, no trash comes home with us! Overall, it is more of a mini-field trip with a bit of cardio thrown in.

**I am currently very limited as to what dogs I can take ~in my home~ due to a recent surgery in my household, however I am able to stay in your home or do visits depending on your location, if you have any questions please feel free to ask. I cannot take any cats ~in my home~, but I CAN take small animals**

I live in Quincy and I work in Jamaica Plain.

I've been working with animals for over 10 years. I was a dog trainer, and groomer for several years. I've worked at a boarding/daycare facility with cats and dogs. I'm able to administer medicines and take care of special needs animals (My own dog was special needs). I have previously fostered cats and dogs. I have owned/cared for cats, dogs, rats, snakes, lizards, chinchillas, hedgehogs, goats, fish, and other animals. I have a huge passion for animals and extensive knowledge in their care, you couldn't find someone better to love and care for your pets while you're away than me. I do prefer to do pet sitting at your home as I feel it makes the animals more comfortable but I do both depending on the animal.

I provide my services to cats, dogs, rodents, reptiles, and (legal)exotic pets.

I can also do baths, nail trims, and some light grooming during the stay for a discount. (Cannot do full haircuts as I do not have a grooming table)

-----------------------------------------------------

I prefer to watch pets at your home, as I feel it makes them more comfortable however I know that's not always possible and I can watch them at my place as well.

*Please note that I do work full time(Varied afternoon/evening shifts with Sundays and Wednesdays offm) so your petsmay be alone for up to 10 hours depending on my commute (from my job in Jamaica Plain) and they will not have 24/7 supervision, if they cannot be alone that long I will not be able to sit them However my boyfriend is also available some days to come do visits**

All prices are just an estimate, they will change depending on the type/number of animals, care required, and service you need.

I do prefer to do a day trial run before any boarding lasting more than 3 nights. And I require a home visit in your home while no one is there if I am sitting to make sure the pup is comfortable with me entering the home.

In my home I have 1 cat, my upstairs roommates have 2 small dogs and cats, however they do not come downstairs.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

I will give my complete attention to your dog(s) when I'm walking them - no groups. We'll go at the pace that's appropriate for him/her, whether that's a good "sniff walk", a brisk jaunt, or even a jog in the park on flexi leash. We'll walk in your neighborhood, and you can suggest the places that your pup loves the most.

The walk can depend on the dog. They can be as active or leisure as the dog (and owner) would prefer. Red and I love to walk on the beach (Wollaston), walk Castle Island and go for hikes at Blue Hills but we can also do long walks around the neighborhood or go to a dog park. Red would join for all the dog walks.

I cater walks to specific dog and parents' needs. Younger and more active dogs will have more active walks, whereas I will take it slow with older dogs. Dogs can either be walked solo or in groups of 3-4, depending on parents' wishes and how well the dogs get along with others.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Quincy

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Quincy, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Quincy. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
