I will walk one or two dogs at a time. I'm happy to take long or short walks, depending on your pet's preference. I can also run or walk them, whichever they prefer. I will always keep your pet on a leash, to avoid potential problems with other people or animals.

I think a good walker caters the walk to the dog, and/or the owner's goals for the walk. If the dogs simply need a little sunshine in their day, then I don't have a problem leisurely strolling. If the dog really needs exercise for weight loss or such, then of course a brisk pace is more desirable. I myself love to spend time outside and will take any sort of walking partner I can get!

Walks with your dog can be leisurely or brisk based on the dogs preferences. I can walk with solo dogs or with multiple depending on their level of training and behavior. If you have a dog that tends to pull on the leash a lot I would prefer solo walks, but if they are fairly well behaved I can handle up to 2 medium-large sized dogs and up to 3 small sized dogs.

Active, multiple dogs are ok! I am used to walking my 80 lb dog along with a 8 lb dog. I usually find a trail at the park to walk them on so we are off of the street. If not just around the neiborhood on the sidewalk. I also take my dog on runs if they are up to it!

Healthy, active dogs will have a brisk walk around the private trail that surrounds our neighborhood. Each pet will have ample opportunities to sniff, mark, and explore. It's fun and full of scents: squirrels, bunnies, raccoons, foxes, skunks, coyotes, and occasionally deer, frequent the path at night!

I walk all the dogs who are staying with me at one time. If your pet requires a more leisurely pace, I will take him/her separately for a shorter distance. I am very cognizant of the extreme heat and limit walks during inclement weather to early morning and late evening when it is a bit cooler.

I'm able to walk dogs according to what the owner wants me to do. I am fit so I can run if needed. I can manage more than one dog. Probably no more than three though. I usually walk on trails. Sometimes I run 6 miles. I like going to the dog park but that would have to be approved by the owner. I'm available to walk dogs 3x plus a day.

Walks will be depending on dog type and requested activity level. I have a public walking trail behind my house on which I can provide leisurely walks (typical of senior dogsor training puppies) or active runs (for trained puppies and adults). Typically I would walk with only one dog at a time unless dog is used to/enjoys walking with others. In addition, I can also walk dogs to nearby dog park if appropriate in order to provide exercise and socialization.

No more than 2 dogs at a time. We like to walk around our neighborhood which is pretty secure with very little transit. Our walks are usually 45-60 minutes long and taken at least twice daily. This is not the only time our guests will be going outside, as we take our guest out in the yard for bathroom breaks regularly.
We always take water and treats for our guests :)
ALL guests should be used to and must be wearing and will be wearing a collar, harness and/or a leash during all walks. NO exceptions.

We live across the street from Heritage Park, leisurely walks will be provided on leash either around the park or around our neighborhood depending on activity level of the dog. We typically let our own dogs out in the backyard for them to run around and go potty. We can do either depending on the dog's situation and habits.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Olathe

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Olathe, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Olathe. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
