Walks vary based on what the owner says the dogs preference is! They can be leisurely or active with running. Walks would be solo, unless you have multiple animals, or you prefer that each dog be walked alone. I can't wait for the opportunity to help exercise your pets!

I am very comfortable walking any sort of dog. Large, small, energetic, or your leisure dog. I am able to handle the properly and am even able to work on some small training techniques to help your dog pull less when walking. Working in an animal shelter for a number of years has given me a lot of experience when walking dogs.

Two dogs or cats maximum per walk . Leisurely stroll at times and other times walking a quicker pace. What type of walk depends on the owner, size of the pet, age and weather conditions.
After each walk I will make sure there is plenty of water for your pets.

I can walk dogs from anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour each day. Leisure walks are generally what I prefer. I did raise 6 dogs for 5 years and am used to walking multiple at a time however, I can also do solo dogs. Your dogs will get the love and attention they so deserve on the walk and they will get good exercise.

I live less than a block from a public park. I usually walk my dogs two laps around the park which is 1 mile. But, my dogs are older and can't walk for long distances. I'm willing to walk dogs for longer distances as long as they are in good shape and able to walk.

Leisure and active. Also depending on the dogs age. If its an active dog then I can walk to the park and play and run. Older dogs I would just walk. Sometimes older dogs can't handle very active walks due to legs or hips being bad. I would suggest the 15 minute walks for those dogs, but it would be a leisure walk. I don't want to overdue it for the dog. I can walk up to 3 dogs at a time. I can do 15 minute walks or 1 hour walks.

I will come to your house and walk your dog in your neighborhood, I only walk one family of dogs at a time. When we get back i will make sure the water is full and give them any treats you may for me to give to them. I will then put them back how they were like back in their kennel or just make sure they are comfortable.

Leisurely. I'm very active at my job but I still enjoy a nice relaxed stroll around a park. There are many beautiful parks to explore here and exploring new places is wonderful for a dog's well being. I'll let your dog lead the walk within reason and allow them to explore at their own pace.

Welcome to Howlers where Pet care is a family affair! My husband, son, step-daughter and I all love animals! We have 2 dogs of our own that we love to pieces. We have several regular clients that have become very special to us. (References available upon request.)We always look forward to having our furry friends come stay with us.
When your dog comes to stay at our "B&B;", he will enjoy living like part of the family. He will have a private place to eat breakfast. Then he'll have some fun playing in the fenced back yard. He will get a nice long walk if that is something you'd like. We'll be home in time to greet the kids when they get home from school when more playing and cuddle time will ensue. I always have a dog audience while I cook dinner. Then the dogs will greet my husband when he gets home. We all eat and relax for a while. Your dog will have a bed to sleep on either in my room or in bed with one of the children.
(Crates are available too.)
For overnight care, I typically ask $20 per night and $10 per night for each additional dog. *Prices are negotiable.
Please contact me to set up a meet and greet. I look forward to meeting you and your babies!

I am happy to cater to each individual dog's needs- I am fit and can go any speed, and I love to play while we are out on a walk. The dog will not be accompanied by any other animals. The length of the walk can be determined by owner's preference or the status of the dog and how much energy it has.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Fort Wayne

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Fort Wayne, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Fort Wayne. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
