I am an active person who loves long walk with dogs, I am also a runner and love to take capable dogs for runs with me. As a volunteer for Meridian Valley Humane society I have walked all types of dogs, from large to small, aggressive to sweet; this has been a wonderful experience and I have learned a lot about how to handle individual dogs. I enjoy taking my dogs for hikes in the hills and to parks to play. I treat all dogs with respect for their personalities on walks and only use positive reinforcement methods.

I can do leisure walks to get dogs out and moving! I can also do active walks no problem. I have experience with multiple dogs as well and can handle a group fairly well. Solo walks are also manageable. I can take them to a park to hang out and socialize or play fetch too!

Depending on the type of dog that you have and what you would like, I could run or walk with your dog. Either is great for me. If I have more than 1 dog on a walk/run then I will only walk. I will pay very close attention to your animal and keep track of any abnormalities.

When I take my dog for a walk, we sometimes do leisurely walks but I also run with her often. Our runs are usually around 2-3 miles. We sometimes run on the Greenbelt, but we prefer off leash trails around the Military Reserve and 8th Street. Either on leash or off leash is okay but I'd prefer if it's not more than two dogs at a time (not including my own dog).

I love getting outside with dogs of all activity levels. For the older and slower furry friends, I would love to go for a leisurely neighborhood stroll or around a park such as Julia Davies. I am an active person and would also love to get out on some longer walks around the Greenbelt or go on a hike such as Table Rock with your energetic pup! Multiple dogs okay!

We live right by the Boise Greenbelt and can take dogs for fun walks with my other dog Bowie! Our family loves walking dogs and it is a great outdoor activity for pets and people. If you drop your dog he will love being outside and have an enjoyable walk!

I can provide animals with walks of any kind. My dog Percy is very active, and we have to go for fairly long walks in order to keep him relaxed during the day. I am able to transport multiple pets for dog walking and sitting or I can do solo if preferred.

i take my dog and my family's dog to park for people and specifically for dogs, in park reserves (there are a bunch around my house), on the Greenbelt, swimming if they enjoy it, and of course all games from fetch, frisbe, to sitting on a bench watching the other dogs play since some animals are less interactive with other animals (my dog enjoys it).

I have experience with many different levels of dog agility. I grew up with everything from puppies to aging dogs. I can go on a leisurely, short walk, or because of my flexibility, and availability with work, I can organize my daily run to incorporate your dog.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Boise

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Boise, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Boise. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
