I prefer solo walks if large breeds or leash pullers, multiples okay for small breeds. I would also prefer leisurely walks vs active but could be motivated pay wise for active walks ?? I have a lot of experience walking my family dogs and pet sitting I've done and dog walking for clients. Not sure how I can make this 250 characters minimum...................................

I usually take my dog for leisurely walks it's anywhere from one hour to two hour walks depending on the weather. I can walk more than one dog at a time and I will walk the dog for the amount of time that the owner wants weather it be just 30 min or 2 hours I do not mind being outside and on my feet. I can also handle dogs that like to pull when on a leash my dog does it all the time and he is a bigger dog.

I can provide an active or leisurely walk depending on clients needs. Walks can be up to 1 hour long. I can walk multiple dogs or a single dog. I can also walk young dogs or dogs just learning how to walk on a leash. Small to giant dogs, all breeds. I am willing to walk in all weather conditions providing it is safe for people and pets (no lighting storms, etc).

I can provide any type of active or leisure care your pet needs. I can also provide exercise for more than one pet at a time or solo exercise if that's what they need, I can also do multiple walks a day if need be.
-Leisure walks will be at a normal pace of walking for as long as the pet needs. If there is not a certain length the pet needs to be walked, it will be until your pet gets tired.
-Active walks will be at a fast pace walk and a jog. I will alternate between the two paces until the pet gets tired and needs to go home.
-I can walk as many as 2 big dogs at one time, 4 medium dogs at one time, and 5-6 small dogs at one time.
- I can also do individual walks if needed

Whatever kind of walk is most convient for the dogs health condition! I enjoy walking myself, I have walked multiple dogs before. I would be happy to take a dog to Grays Lake or something similar. I have had much experience working with all kinds of animals.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Des Moines

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Des Moines, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Des Moines. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
