Leisurely walks, maximum 2 dogs from the same family at a time.
Or, if they prefer playtime in your fenced yard, I am happy to provide that, as well as feeding, administering meds, and brushing.
I do NOT take dogs off leash to dog parks.

I am a 24 year old student at emory law and live in downtown decatur. I have had dogs since I was 6 years old, and have been the primary caregiver since I was 16. I moved from CA for school and unfortunately had to leave my dogs with my parents for my first year at school. I miss them terribly and would like to be able to surround myself with dogs again.
I love every dog. I have no preference to the type of dog I sit for.
I am available most weekends and can do weeknights as well, but I do have work from 8:30am to 5pm during the week.
I cannot bring dogs to my apartment but I am willing to dog sit at your home. I am reliable, trustworthy, and honest. I am respectful or others and their property and homes.
I am looking forward to meeting you and your pet!

I walk dogs to their own comfort. Meaning, older dogs will be more leisurely where if you have an active/energetic pup I would love to take him/her on a jog or to a park. I can walk dogs solo or in a group depending on if they are comfortable in groups or experience anxiety or aggression to others. While I can control anxious dogs in a group I do not recommend it. Aggressive dogs are not an issue. If they have leash aggression, aggression toward people or dogs, I will adjust to their needs.
Each dog will be tended to in a manor that best suits their needs.

I can cater my walks to your dogs needs. I am a very active person, so I can take your dog on hikes if you prefer more exercise. For older dogs, leisurely park walks or dog park visits are also available. I have owned several border collies, which require a great deal of exercise and attention, so I am accustomed to spending a lot of active time with pets. I also love to throw a ball or frisbee!

I think a walk depends on the type of pup I'm walking. My walks are only with the dogs in that household. If the pup is more active, then this walk would include more playing fetch and running off some of that excess energy! If the pup is calmer and just enjoys a jaunt outside, then we'd go for a leisurely walk around the park/neighborhood to get that pup outside and some fresh air! It really matters most about what the pup wants and needs! :)

I would very much like to pursue dog walking as a full-time job. I can usually take your buddies someplace with few cars and cats running around. However, that's not always possible in Atlanta. If I have multiple poorly leash trained dogs I would try to walk them separately. I'm always sure to clean up after them in suburban or well-traveled areas. I have no problem walking them to exhaustion, either. I am very active and walk frequently for myself, so it makes sense for me to walk dogs as a career.

I am a full time pet sitter.

I do aggressive walks or leisurely walks for the older dogs... for at least 20 minutes and then take time to get water and relax before I head out.

I can walk multiple dogs at one time if needed.

I walk rain or shine. During the meet and greet we can discuss your pets needs.

Walks will be dependent on how many dogs I am caring for at the time. But I will be sure to keep the walks fun and interesting. Leisure activities will most likely be the walks we can take but I also want to incorporate activities with the dogs to keep them us both active.

Customizable and flexible based on the pet. Will custom tailor a walk that balances wearing your pet out, and providing fun / enjoyment. We have a large park nearby, as well as a large backyard that the dogs are free to run and play in.

Multiple dogs can sometimes be a chore for some - our dogs make walking a breeze! They are well behaved in a pack, and help provide some calmness and sanity to a pet that may be missing their owner!

When my baby was still with me, we took leisurely walks through our neighborhood. It Wasn't very strenuous or active, just casually and comfortably. In the past, I have walked dogs for my family members along with my pup. Sometimes, the dogs get a little rowdy! However, it has never been an issue for me, considering that I have years of caring for dogs with different personalities! My neighborhood is in a secluded and quiet area

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Decatur

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Decatur, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Decatur. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
