I would feel comfortable leaving the level of intensity up to the owner. I have no problem keeping it leisure (like my pup likes) or we could pick it up to a nice jog. I've walked as many as 4 dogs together, but they were all very well trained, so it just depends on your little friends how many I could handle at once. I love getting out and enjoying breath of fresh air, so no worries, your dogs will enjoy whichever pace you choose for them :)

I only walk two dogs at a time. I will walk your fur baby in your neighborhood. Please let me know the days and times that you would like your baby exercised. I typically go at least 1.5 miles...more if time permits. I have been taking care of animals for over 40 years. I am an active retired senior. Walking my clients has helped me to lose 38 pounds...so this is a win...win...for everyone. On my profile it indicates I limit my dog size to 20 lbs, however for dog walking I go up to 70 lbs. I can't keep large dogs at my home because I have a cat that is terrified of large dogs.

I enjoy active walks locally at recreational parks, some having dog areas as well. Sidewalks through neighboring subdivisions and on nature trails nearby. If the guest home is fenced and dogs enjoy fetching balls, or frisbees, this is enjoyable exercise for us both! I am able to walk multiple dogs provided they get along and have good leash manners. I am an active, responsible, very loving and knowledgeable adult. I was a horse trainer most of my life and raised Australian Shepherds and wonderfully calm Jack Russell terriers for most of those years. I always cared for dogs belonging to my equine customers throughout those years. I am without my fur babies for the first time in my life and long to have dogs back in my life. My boyfriend does have an "Aussie", who is very sweet and handsome! However he is not neutered, so this is my reason for not caregiving in our home at this time. Horse care can be provided also!

Our walks are active and fun, and are often enjoyed at an area public park. Most walks include two or more dogs in a friendly pack. Most walks are longer than 30 minutes, and afterwards we sit down in a shaded area under a tree and I always supply fresh, clean, cold water to drink.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Cumming

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Cumming, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Cumming. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
