Walks are customized to the pet: running or jogging for active, healthy dogs, slower walks for geriatric or special-needs dogs. Dog parks are possible destinations for 60-minute walks if nearby.

Positive reinforcement training techniques included with every walk to promote loose-leash walks and decrease barking and jumping behaviors.

I really enjoy taking dogs on longer walks especially to a park area where they can run around and we can play together. I enjoy walking myself so walking around is always fun for me. My walks usually include walking on the street or walking to a destination such as a park or dog park and letting them play with other dogs or have our own exercise session with one another. I do enjoy taking dogs on walks around the neighborhood usually for 25-30 mins for neighborhood walks and 30mins - 1hr at a park or dog park.

I provide leisurely walks that are fun and relaxing for both your dog and mine! My pup is a great walking buddy and loves to join her new friends on a daily stroll.

Does your dog prefer a solo walk? No problem! Angie doesn't mind some R&R; while I go take your pup out on the town.

I love taking Cozmo for long walks through different neighborhoods and terrains. I live near Piedmont Park and love walking through the park on the different trails and paths. I also love long 3-5 hikes in various state parks around the area. My walks range from leisurely to swift depending on the dog. In summer I love to run with Cozmo, so if they are up to it we can run about 2-3 miles.

I am pretty active. I like to workout. So walks are 20 minutes around the community and to the park. I have 2 small dogs that I walk together. I can walk multiple dogs at one time. If you feel more safe with your dog walking alone, that is no problem. In my community it's gated and plenty of yard space for your dog to run and enjoy. My dogs are friendly and love to play with other dogs. They make me stay youthful and in shape buy keeping me active. So if your dog has a much energy add my dogs, then they will fit right in.

My dog walks are typically leisurely, but really it depends on the dog. I like to allow your dog time to soak up all the smells. I can jog if your dog is high energy, but I am not inherently a runner. Personally, I like biking for exercise. I can walk up to 2 dogs at a time.

We take the dogs who are up for walks around our neighborhood in Grant Park, typically 2 or 3 miles. Older dogs with walking issues can either hang out at the house, or get a quick personal walk on our street or around the block. Sometimes on weekends we take the dogs out on local trails for hikes.

Hello,

Considering my location right downtown on piedmont ave. I'm centrally located to a lot of dog parks and parks in general. Walks can consist of whatever the owner suggest. I'm fine with walking multiple dogs as I see no harm with some extra company on our leisure walks.

I live on the Beltline and can take your dog on leisurely strolls, for runs at the dog park, or even let them join in on a day hike! When it gets warmer I like to take my dog swimming too! My apartment complex has a good size fenced in dog park connected to my building so we spend A LOT of time playing and running around between lots of cuddles.
I have a nice dog spa at my apartment and can offer dog baths for an extra charge if we go on a hike.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Atlanta

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Atlanta, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Atlanta. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
