I am capable of taking walks at your dogs own pace. Whether that be slow and calm or active hikes and jogs, I will be willing to accommodate to fit their needs. I know of plenty of good hiking trails, some more steep then others, fun rivers for your dog to play in and open fields for them to run. Additionally, we could always just walk along a trail or sidewalk at a pace set by your dog.

I usually walk every day for 30 to 60 minutes. I can walk as slow or as actively as the dog needs. I can walk one dog or up to three dogs. I would love to have a companion on my daily walks, so I feel like dog walking is a great option for me. I love dogs and I understand that different dogs have different needs, and will make sure each dog gets the appropriate amount of exercise it needs.

Love walking dogs in public areas or through the woods, whichever they are more comfortable. Experience with leash pullers, fast paced dogs, and dogs who like to stop and sniff everything. Can be active. Can handle large as well as small dogs. Usually more comfortable with one dog, but have experiencing walking more than one dog at a time.

I enjoy a mix of brisk walks mixed with a little jogging. I usually let the dogs I am with gauge our outing. I take no more than two dogs at a time, so they may have more of my attention, and I am less distracted. I try to make each outing at least two miles in distance, usually no more than three. I'm usually more focused on excercise and ticketing the pups out, so I try to keep them focused on our walk/run. They will always get designated per/poo breaks, and sniffing breaks. As well as water breaks, and rests, if they need it. I love near the Athens Runners Club shop, which has a source of fresh water, and they are cool enough to provide a dog bowl, so there's always a stop scheduled in our outings. I'm a very active person, so I always enjoy my outings with all the pups!

I walk every where with my dog. We take 30-90 minute walks at a leisurely pace. However, I am also an avid runner and run with my dog in the morning as well. We run anywhere from 2-5 miles. I am more than willing to do multiple walks a day and actually prefer to do so. Walking keeps me active and keeps them happy =)

I like to mix up the walks by going on different paths or locations. Sometimes I will do two dogs at a time but usually no more than that. Based on the dogs energy level I can do walks or we can jog. Depending on the dog a mile to two miles are walked. I will let you know if they took bathroom breaks and when I return them home I will make sure your pet is provided with enough water.

I can take the dogs on bathroom break walks, leisurely walks, or active walks. I can handle about 2-3 dogs at once, depending on their size. I can take bigger dogs to local parks and mountains if desired. Little dogs I can do close walks or park walks.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Athens

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Athens, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Athens. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
