A task such as dog walking may sound mindless to some but for me, walks serve several purposes. These include bathroom requirements, exercise, as well as a time to bond. I am able to walk up to two dogs at a time or possibly three depending on their sizes. My neighborhood is very dog-friendly with sidewalks on both sides of the street. We also have lots of communal grassy areas that make for good sniffing. In fact one area right behind my house is park-like with rows of big shade trees for cooler walks on hot days. Our walks are generally leisurely with time spent stopping to take in the smells that breezes bring or standing still and alert to catch a glimpse of a squirrel or a bird. Some pups like to pick up the pace and give me a good workout which is an added benefit. I generally walk one dog at a time unless we are going out together for a quick pee break. I cautiously leash and unleash the dogs inside the house before opening any doors to prevent an escape artist from slipping out. All in all we have a fun time exploring the sights and scents of the neighborhood.

We always walk 3 times a day, but because mine are a little on the chubby side we are walking if the weather is nice even 6 times with long and short walks. We have toys so we play fetch, belly rubs or just chill in the sofa for nap time. If I have more than 3 doggies we walk 2 at a time so they are always safe.
