I like taking leisurely walks (30-40 mins) through parks in the city (preferably with one dog) in the mornings and evenings on both weekdays and weekends. There is also a landscaped courtyard in my apartment where dogs can be taken for some fresh air! I work from home most of the time, so have the flexibility of taking dogs out for walks during weekdays.

I like to adjust each walk to the dog's intention: If they need to burn some energy, let's go run around a park or sniff our way down countless city blocks. If the pup prefers to take his or her time, or has some mobility constraints that call for a slower pace, we can go on a more leisurely stroll. For safety, I prefer limiting the number of dogs I walk at any one time to two.

Your pup and I will enjoy a nice active walk throughout the neighborhood, with an emphasis on whatever they like best! If your dog has a special route or favorite dog park, we can definitely incorporate that into our walk! If you have multiple dogs, I am comfortable walking them together or separately, whatever is the normal routine for your pets.

It depends what kind of dog is it they all process energy in a different way. If dog is in a good shape I would prefer taking them to the park, I am also a runner if the dog enjoys to go for a run that would be awesome too ?????????
I am comfortable to take care not more than 2 dogs ?? I prefer to do it right and be able to meet the requirements for my services I don't think more than 2 dogs would be able to get the care and the love they deserve just from me ??

Your dog would be taken on a fast paced fun walk! If you have obedience rules just let me know and I will follow them! I will send you an update after the walk to let you know all the activities that occurred. I have a lot of experience walking dogs within the city and would love to explore your puppies area with them!

I am happy to do leisurely walks around the neighborhood, or go to a park and play fetch. I will also jog/run and do a more active outing with the dog(s), if the owner wants. I'm used to walking my family's two 70 lb labs at once, so can definitely walk multiple dogs!

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Washington

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Washington, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Washington. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
