Dogs and walking are two of my favorite things! I can walk at slow leisurely pace or a quicker speed/jog for dogs who are more active. I can walk two dogs at once. I have experience working with gentle leaders and other forms of collars. I am also willing to take dogs to the dog park or local parks!

The walks we offer depend on the exercise needs and abilities of your pup, and depend on where you're located. We can offer a leisurely neighborhood walk, an off-leash dog park adventure, an off-leash or on-leash hike, and can include swimming, fetch or other fun things your pup enjoys. Most of the time, my dogs Joni and Toaster will be along for the fun.

I like to walk dogs in a nice park area. If they are able to fetch I will play fetch with them too! I am able to jog with the dogs if they require a little extra energy exertion as well. Although the majority of the walk will be a leisurely walk. I may have one other dog joining the walk, depending on the temperament of the dogs. I will never put two dogs together who may show leash or other dog aggression.

Whatever your family member needs, I am there. If they are a senior I will walk leisurely. For more upbeat dogs, faster walking and running will be provided depending on how they do on leashes. I can do both solo walls and multiple dogs at one time. Depending on the time spent with the animal, I am willing to work on leash behavior and pulling. If time allows and for the more active dog, I may take the dog to a more robust location (mountains, park).

Having dogs in the previous years as many as 3 dogs but mostly 1 or 2. They all have had a walk 5 days per week on a leash for a minimum of 20 minutes and a maximum of 40 minutes depending on weather. If it is hot out above 90 degree's the walks are at a minimum. Dogs have always had access to outside yard with the use of a doggy door for smaller pets but larger pets have a minimum of 5 times per day so they can relieve themselves and when they demand it. "Outside" is the term used for the dogs to go outside and some of the occasions I will sit with them and play. Playing is also allowed on the inside of home but no rough stuff used to encourage aggressive behavior. Some dogs required the use of a bed to lay on and their own toys to play with any or all is always encouraged. No running alone has ever been used during the course of any day without a lease. I have always loved smaller dogs and given special care to them all. I would do the same for your dogs as if they were my own.

Hi!

I'm Marianne and am passionate about all animals and support their protection (WWF member). Since I was little, I've always been surrounded by animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and ponies), and I currently have two cats: Comet, 3 years old (adopted in France) and Sadie, 17 years old (adopted from the Boulder Humane Society one year ago). I will also be adopting a dog in a near future.

So, I am a trustworthy, conscientious and skilled person and have plenty of experience with animal: I took care of pets for my family, friends, and neighbors (different breeds and ages) and I will take very good care of your pet!
With me, your pet will be treated with the utmost respect, love and affection!!

I'm happy to take care of not only dogs, but also cats and others small animals.
I am a full time pet sitter, therefore I am available when you need and seven days a week (short or long term, emergency bookings ...).

I am still learning English (I'm French), so I will take plenty of time to communicate with you in order to understand your pet's needs and safety. It's important to me to establish good communication and trust with my clients and their pets to provide high quality care.

I look forward to meeting you and your pet!

Marianne.

I can take your pups on runs or long walks or hike, with other pups or alone! I love driving to the Boulder Reservoir or Sanitas Valley and enjoying the day with your furry friends. Each day your pups will get lots of love and care, with several walks to keep them happy and healthy.

My dog is a runner so we drive a little further into the foothills to visit off leash areas. I bike with her when the weather permits, and ski if we get snow. She will do laps when we hike with her older friends, or romp with her younger buddies. My price is a little higher due to the fact I make the drive to let even non-green tag dogs play up in the wilderness away from the crowds. It's worth it to see their tail wagging on the trail, and the content slumber they fall into on the drive home. Happy pup = happy owner :)

The distance says 25 miles, but I drive from Lyons to Nederland, so can accommodate walks for pups in any location between.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Longmont

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Longmont, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Longmont. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
