Dexter and I live in a historic district in Golden, Colorado. We have tree-lined streets and shady sidewalks nearby. We are two blocks from the trailheads to the iconic "Castle Rock" on South Table Mountain. We also enjoy walking along the Clear Creek Trail. Sometimes we walk through the outdoor portions of the Golden History Museum, which has interesting sights like a chicken coop, where I
sometimes help tend the chickens. In good weather, we love to jog over to the Golden Community Garden, where I volunteered for many years, where we can smell the flowers and watch the life cycle of the garden. If our guest's Mom & Dad say, "OK," we can continue to the newest Golden dog park across from the community garden, where we have room to play with the "Chuck it." From the dog park, we can take the pedestrian bridge up to a beautiful park. It is grassy and green with beautiful views. If we want to take it a little easier, we walk two blocks to the grounds of the Colorado School of Mines (CSM). The grounds of CSM are flat and we like to walk around the grassy quads and the adjacent old historic district. We love Golden and find it to be incredibly dog-friendly. We always leash and clean up after ourselves and we often see other dogs walking their humans. If they look nice and everyone agrees, we may say hello and give a sniff. We carry water but when we get home, we always enjoy a nice big drink of water, ice optional, and usually a good snooze!
