I like to set out on a walk no more than 4 dogs at a time. I usually bring some snacks for myself and the dogs and sit under a tree and play fetch and run around with the doggies. I use to have a very smart dog that I did everything with and now I cant have a dog, so I'd like to help someone out while fulfilling my puppy needs.

I live and work from home in Capitol Hill just a couple blocks from Cheeseman Park.

I walk my German Shepherd every day in Cheeseman and we usually do a long, fast walk on the outside park loop. I'm great with large breed dogs and prefer to work with leash trained, non aggressive dogs of any size and breed. I'd love to help you out with your furry buddies and take them for a walk to stretch their legs and enjoy fresh air. I would most likely walk your dog at the same time as mine unless you request a solo walk for a specific reason. My pup is friendly and loves other dogs.

I have a pretty flexible schedule and can accommodate daytime walks, especially on weekdays.

I can also do in home visits to locations close by to check on a pet or let them outside to go to the bathroom or administer medication. I can also care for kitties!!

I'm comfortable and experienced dealing with animals who need medication.

We’ll go on leisurely walks around the neighborhood, sometimes jogs. To help with energy levels I’ll visit parks to run free, throw balls, and socialize with other dogs. I would like to limit this activity to a minimum of two dogs at a time to avoid any challenges :)

I can provide walks that are either leisurely or more active. I live very close to a small park in Uptown Denver but also enjoy taking dogs on hikes at nearby trails and longer walks around bigger parks (i.e. City Park, Wash Park) I am able to accommodate up to 3 dogs at one time.

I don't have a "one size fits all" approach to dog sitting/walking. It's all dependent upon the dog and their needs. Athletic dogs get more active walks and older, slower dogs may get more leisurely walks. It all depends on what the owner wants and how the dog is feeling that day.

I love pets, dogs in particular, and know how important it is to feel comfortable and reassured that your pets are being well cared for while you are away. Having a dog that doesn't do well being boarded at a kennel (it completely stresses her out), I love that DogVacay provides an alternative option for pet owners.

I have a wealth of experience fostering for a variety of rescues and currently volunteer at a local shelter, so I'm very comfortable and knowledgeable about dogs of all breeds and sizes. I also have years of experience with my personal pets. I have provided insulin shots, seizure medication, feeding for a dog with megaesophagus, subcutaneous hydration and oral medication, so I am comfortable with dogs that have special needs. In addition to daily walks, we visit the dog park (Cherry Creek off leash) at least once a weekend, so if your dog enjoys that, he/she can come along too!

I live in a pet friendly condo in the Capitol Hill area of Denver. I do not have a yard, so walks are a regular part of our day. Your pet will have the opportunity for exercise, in addition to just playing. My home is extremely dog friendly and my animals are treated like part of the family. I have plenty of dog toys, extra dog beds, and treats (all natural), and of course plenty of love to share! Whether your pet likes to sleep on a dog bed, the couch or with me at night, all options are available! I can tailor my schedule and routine to meet the needs of your pet. I do not crate unless that is something your dog is already familiar and comfortable with. Both of my dogs have free roam and are not crated.

While I work during the day (M-F), I come home during my lunch to walk my dog and am home in the afternoon by 4:45 pm. I am pretty flexible and can accommodate most requests for pick-up and drop off times on the weekend, however please keep in mind when scheduling that I do work from 7-4pm M-F. The evening and weekends I would be with your pet for almost constant supervision. I don't work in the summertime, so I am available and home the majority of the time then as well.

I ask that your pets please be housebroken. I take the dogs out every 4-5 hours (if not more frequently) so they will have frequent opportunities for potty breaks. I also request that dogs be neutered. Since walks are a necessity with not having a yard, your dog must be okay using a leash to potty (I am willing to work with leash manners, pulling, etc.).

Please be honest about any behaviors your pet may have (food/toy aggression, leash aggression, destructive behavior, anxiety, reactive to certain situations and/or people, marking, etc.). It will make the experience better for all of us!

If you are looking for dog walking, I am available on the weekends (or during certain holiday breaks and the summer) and do not charge an additional fee for up to 2 dogs in the same household.

I also provide a discount for multiple dogs from the same household -$45/night for two dogs.

For more information or specific questions, please contact me.

I can provide references upon request, just ask!

My walks will always depend on the dog. For very energetic, athletic dogs, a quicker pace may be better. For senior dogs, a leisurely walk around the block would be better! I am used to having multiple dogs on-leash, but solo dogs are excellent as well!

I can walk multiple dogs at a time and will even take your dog on a run! Happy to do long brisk walks, or shorter walks depending on the dogs needs. I am responsible in picking up after the dog and love big and small dogs! If the dogs like to play with others I can bring them to a dog park, or if they like to hike I can bring them on a hike!

Solo walks catered to your pup!! If your dog has a lot of energy, I can walk with them forever, but I will always monitor their energy levels and never push them. Happy to take a walk around the block, at your local park, or even bring them to a dog park. I'm also an avid runner and would be happy to run with them if you'd like!

I will walk at the appropriate pace for the dog(s).
I will walk with no more than 2 dogs at a time: one on each side.
I will assert myself as the pack leader. A dog needs time to be a dog and sniff to his/her content. But when it is time to focus on the walk, we all fall into rhythm.
I am practiced in training the dogs to follow my calm assertive walking.
In my experience the gentle leader is helpful for dogs who like to pull.
I understand dog leash-psychology. A leashed dog is in defense-mode against an off-leash dog, and that situation is best avoided.
I will only allow a client dog off-leash in a legally designated and secure dog park, and only with the owner's permission.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Denver

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Denver, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Denver. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
