Hi
I know how important a pet can be. My Mora, a 7-lbs. chiweenie, is my baby. So I can understand that leaving a loved one in the hands of another person can be nerve racking. I am here to give you peace of mind. I will care for your loved one as I would my own. I have experience with many different types of dogs and cats, but I am open to other species. From those experiences, I can say that no two are the same. So your baby will get customized care to your liking. I believe not all dogs feel comfortable in a new environment and I will make sure that their routine will not change, in other words, I adapt to your baby, not the other way around.

A little more about me:

I am a responsible college student. I prefer to plan ahead and know what to expect, hence I would like to meet with you and your pooch at first to establish a relationship. It is possible for same day booking; I would just prefer a heads up before. As I mentioned above, I have experience with different types of dogs and at different stages in their lives, so I am very attentive to their specific needs. Currently, my services are by word-of-mouth but I am hoping by posting online I will be able to expand and serve your pooch to the best of my ability.

Holidays:

I will be available for holidays, unfortunately Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are NOT an option. Please add an additional $10 per night stay; all other services please add an additional $5.

I like to give the dog the ability to decide his own walks. Depending on the dog itself. I am available to do all kinds of walks : leisurely, active, solo or multiple dogs - i can throw balls for them in a dog park. Pretty much anything the dog wants. I myself like to stay active and work out. I will be able to hold of a bigger dog on the leash.

I talk my golden on at least 4 walks per day in the neighborhood and one more extended hike every day in Griffith Park, Cold Water Canyon Park, or Trebek Open Space, as well as visiting the open run Laurel Canyon Dog Park. Neighborhood walks are casual and usually about half a mile. Hikes tend to be a bit longer, perhaps 2 miles or so and up to an hour.

I love taking dogs to the park to play and socialize with other dogs, or on runs or hikes if they're able. Runyan and Griffith are nearby and great hikes for active dogs. If the dog is less active, I enjoy walking at their pace and letting them stop to sniff however often they like. I also like stopping for treats at a local pet store and taking the dog with me to get cofee or run errands. I prefer just walking one dog over multiple but am willing to walk more than one if need be.

I love taking dogs to Runyon or on other walks and hikes around LA.
If the dog is good with other dogs it's fun to take them to the dog parks.
Since I don't have a dog of my own to do this with I frequently go to Bark'n Bitches and bring rescues on my hikes.

Walks will be leisurely and at the pace of the dog. For more active dogs yard play can be added to the end of the visit. For those with separation anxiety, I can brush them or play with their toys indoors/outdoors if they need extra attention. They can also sit on my lap if they're smaller dogs.

I'm a reiki practitioner so I can try that if you'd like also on anxious pets or those who need human love contact thru brushing, petting, energy work

I like taking dogs on leisurely walks or a brisk one if the dog likes. Multiple dogs are fine as long as they get along. I can take them to one of the West Hollywood enclosed areas which is relatively private and right up the street.
My neighborhood is safe and centrally located.

My dog Jane loves to take leisurely walks, stopping to sniff everything. But if there's another dog with her, she's happy to step up the pace to keep up! Generally, I'd prefer to walk her with any dog staying with us, but if a dog needs some solo-walk time, that's not a problem. I'm also more than happy to take a dog on a jog, if they need to be more active.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in West Hollywood

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in West Hollywood, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in West Hollywood. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
