I enjoy any walks to be outside. I like to stay physically active and I love the nature and hiking or just going on a stroll through the park or around town. My prefered walk would be through Howarth Park and I can handle pretty much anything the dog can handle from 15 minutes up to a 10 mile hike! I have experience walking multiple dogs such as my sister's mastiff and pit bull (each weighing 100+lbs) at the same time.

I walk dogs at the pace they are comfortable with. If it is a high energy dog, I can take it on an active walk at a relatively fast pace, and if it is a more mellow dog it will be a more leisurely walk. I can walk more than one dog at a time. The most I would be comfortable with at this time would be three dogs.

I'm a pretty active person, so they would probably be walked briskly, maybe even some running, and definitely some playing. I definitely don't have a problem with multiple dogs as long as they know each other and get along with each other. I grew up on a farm with many dogs, and have always had dogs in my life. Currently I don't own a dog, I own a horse, who thinks he's a big dog and who I actually treat accordingly. But whenever I go up north to visit my folks on their farm, even if I haven't seen their dogs for a few months, they seem to remember me and get very excited. It's always kind of been like that. I am an animal lover, and have also become a certified bodyworker for horses, but massage techniques transfer very easily to all pets, and humans too. I'm also a vegetarian, so the idea of even eating "acceptable animals" is not OK with me. I hope this helps describe me a little bit

I would walk the dog either around the neighbor hood or whatever the owner is comfortable with. Going to the park is always fun and stimulating for dogs, so I prefer to go to a great park in Sebastopol or in Santa Rosa. There will be times when I might have my mothers dogs with me, they are very friendly dogs they love to play and interact with other dogs.

We live right next to a very nice trail. I'm able to take 2 dogs at a time for a 30 minute walk. Or we can just go around the book if the dog is old or not used to go on hikes. I never let the dogs off leash and always have poop bags. Dogs come home wiped out and usually sleep very well all night. I usually take the dogs late afternoon when sun isn't too hot.

I prefer more leisurely walks or fast paced walks. If an owner would prefer the dog to run, I am willing to run with the dog. I love being outdoors rain or shine. I walk during my free time and to be able to do it with a dog wouldnjust make my walks that much more great. I love animals and am willing to take up to three dogs at a time if needed. ??

Your Dog, along with other canine companions, will be taken to a predetermined "Off Leash or on leash" Approved Park, Beach or Trail, where they will enjoy a 1-2 hour Play Date or calm structured walk, with their fellow Pack Mates. They will not only get physical and mental exercise but also proper socialization and exposure to new things. Most importantly learn and maintain proper loose leash walking with no pull.
On our walks your dog will get the most joyful walk any dog could ask for. When walking a pack of dogs in a calm and structured state, your dog will get excellent social skills and proper loose leash etiquette. When walking in a pack it taps into a dogs natural instinct of staying together. It also teaches your dog to walk in a pack in a calm and balanced mind set while staying focused on the walker no matter what the negative distractions may be. After walking with the pack your pup will come home tired, relaxed, and more obedient!

Generally: Leisurely for the more mature dogs; active for the younger dogs. Of course the breed of the dog is a determining factor as well as the age of the dog.
I've walked up to 5 dogs at one time, but I also do solo. It depends on my schedule on any particular day. I almost always take my dog, Jack, along with me. This makes it more fun for the other dogs, and provides Jack with a variety of fun. I have a chuckit ball for the "ball dogs" I walk. I run and play with the active ones, and pace myself along with the older slower ones, occasionally speaking to them in gentle, loving tones. I vary the walks with taking them to dog parks. I like to keep it interesting for them, so I try to mix up the routine. One of my clients, who lives in the country, has a big and little dog. They have their own private small lake which she has requested I take the row boat out with the little dog in it, while the bigger dog swims along. Then after that, I hop on a bike and run the big dog with the little dog running along in tow. Very fun!!

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Santa Rosa

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Santa Rosa, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Santa Rosa. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
