Daily Dog Walking includes a GUARANTEED 45 minutes (normally an hour) outdoors plus doggie-taxi time---typically dogs are hanging out with me for 1-4 hours each day. I do pack walks either on leash in quiet neighborhoods, out in openspaces, at dog parks or in a secluded corral-sized fenced area. I focus on training, ball tosses, positive socialization, physical exercise and sniffing the world. I have been a trainer and walker for 10 years and I LOVE it! Please check my business out on Yelp- Smooch A Pooch Services- licensed, bonded and insured-Thank you!!!

Solo walks or at the most, two dogs walked together is the service I provide. Dogs always get individual attention. Walks always include access to a park, bike path or other greenery whenever possible.

My walking style is brisk but leisurely, never running sometimes hiking up hills or wooded paths depending on the dog.

Walk can be adjusted to the dog's needs. Whether your pet enjoys a leisurely stroll or several miles running on the trails, I can accommodate anywhere within that spectrum of activity. I can handle up to 3 dogs of varying sizes, especially large dogs (they're my favorite!). We can also include games and agility exercises.

Depending on your dogs capabilities we take either a flat Terrain hike or a hilly hike. Hikes are twice daily (usually 10AM and 4PM) and are usually limited to 6 dogs. On occasion I will get requested for mid day hikes which leaves at 1PM. Cost includes pickup and delivery of dogs.

I will walk or hike up to three dogs at one time. I rarely have more than one dog at a time, however. Walks and hikes will depend on your dogs fitness and health. I am familiar with several hikes in Marin County: the flat, the hilly, and the steep. If your dog is staying at my place, I will likely hike from Deer Park in Fairfax, Kent Lake in Lagunitas or Roy Redwoods in Nicasio. Sometimes a hike is not realistic due to weather or time of day. In these cases, I will get your dog out on a nice neighborhood walk. If I am staying at your place, you may have some trails close by. Show me your dogs favorite trails and I'm happy to take them.

Walks: Leisurely strolls around the neighborhood, moderate mountain hikes, or running free at Redhill Dog Park - I am happy to discuss your dog's exercise preferences and adjust accordingly! I am a very active person so I enjoy taking walks as much as possible. Your dog will enjoy time in nature whenever possible and I love discovering each dog's pace and making him/her feel comfortable with a set routine.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in San Anselmo

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in San Anselmo, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in San Anselmo. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
