When I go for a walk, I like to see how active is the dog and if they are comfortable running or just walking. If the dogs like to run, I will run. If they like to walk, I will walk. I like to walk active dogs for about an hour at least. I would like to see how well the dogs behaves with other dogs while walking and if it is too much of a distraction then I will walk the dog by itself. I like to
bring a portable bowl with me and water to give the dog when I see he/she it is panting too much. If the walks are for about an hour, I also like to take breaks if the dog is too tired. I like to bring treats in case they do something that should be rewarded. I like to change the paths I take when walking because I like variety, and I feel dogs would get bored if they see the same stuff every day. I have experience with dogs that pull so I know how to control them when walking. If I see another dog that's coming towards the dog and me, I always like to walk to the other sidewalk because I never know how the other dog might react to me or the dog I am walking. I like to bring a stick with me just in case a loose dog comes to attack us. I prefer to walk dogs by themselves if they are a large breed.
