I am a solo dog walker who can walk for leisure or it can be an active walk if the dog needs some exercise. An active walk does not necessarily mean we would be running/jogging; we would walk at a fast pace. I am willing to walk multiple dogs if they are not aggressive towards other dogs and walk civilized with one another.

I do solo walks for dogs, as I am not able to focus on more than one dog while taking them for a walk. I take the dogs out at a leisure pace, making sure that they're safe and not getting into anything dangerous while also making sure that everyone is having a good time!

It depends on the dog and how many dogs. If it's an older dog, I tend to take a slower pace and allow them to take their time. If it's a young adult or puppy I try and get as much exercise in them as possible, including long walks, maybe even a jog, sometimes a hike if the owner doesn't mind and the dog enjoys it. One thing is for sure, that at least one walk a day, if not more, is vital to a pet's health.

We love taking our husky to the park and dog beach, playing at home, and taking long walks around our residence. We often watch friends dogs as well, and have cared for neighbors pets if they've ran from home while their owner is gone. My boyfriend and I don't believe in leaving dogs in crates for long periods of time, and we are almost always home so our dog can be free to roam around the house.

My walks with dogs can vary depending on the environment. When walking on the side-walk the dog and I will travel at a calm pace making sure that the dog respects my speed. If we go to a dog park they can run around with other pups or we can play fetch. The point is to tire out your pup and to have fun!

I can walk at whatever pace the dogs enjoy whether they like to stroll along and sniff every bush or go for a light jog. I can walk multiple dogs at once. I'm an active 25 year old in good shape and have walked every type of dog from 150lb dogs who like to pull on the leash to small 5lb dogs who like to run back and forth trying to trip you up. I'm very aware of my surrounding and will make sure the dog enjoys a safe and effective walk.

30-minute walk (fast): This will consist of challenging walks around the neighborhood. Walks that are fast-paced. Exercises will be measured accordingly upon pets physical capacity and what the owner requests. Strenuous activities will never be forced on any animal. Breaks will be given to dogs; this includes stopping for potty breaks, slowing down (if we are on a run), and of coarse water breaks.
30-minute walk (easy): This will consist of an easy walk, this walk will be at a much slower pace. I will take the dog on a nice stroll through the neighborhood park right next to where I live! From there we will keep on walking through the residential area. This walk is recommended for older dogs or simply if owner requests it.
60-minute walk (easy): This will consist of a calm long walk where the animal may explore as far as he or she likes. All animals will be taken to the park and around a calm neighborhood. Safety of the animal is priority. Breaks will be given to the dog. All breaks include: potty breaks, water breaks, slowing down, or stopping.
60-minute walk (fast); This walk is a long fast-paced walk or even a run upon owners request. I will take the dog around the neighborhood and around the local park. It would be a good time with my own dogs on a nearby park playing around, always being attended and well cared. It would include walks around the whole place so they feel comfortable being there. I really enjoy spending time with animals, its a great way to do some cardio too and to keep them healthy.

I have experience walking dogs solo and in groups. I have walked dogs of every size. I have a great deal of experience walking rambunctious dogs that like to go fast and explore. I also love taking leisurely strolls with more relaxed dogs. I have dealt with conflicts between stray dogs on walks in the past and am well equipped to handle them. I also have experience walking senior dogs.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Anaheim

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Anaheim, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Anaheim. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
