I will take your pet for leisurely strolls, or brisk walks. If you have multiple dogs, I'm comfortable walking a few at the same time (I used to walk my 3 samoyeds together). I prefer scenic routes away from busy traffic (e.g. seawall). Rain or shine.

I love walking and I absolutely love animals. I grew up with plenty of animals, and have always enjoying going for all kinds of walks.

I'm super active, as I teach fitness classes so I'm happy to do any length you'd like. I can do hikes as well as regular park/trail walks. Multiple animals are a-okay.

I have a car, so I can travel to various places. Just don't want to get the dogs too dirty for the car, so ideally we could walk to the places. Always happy to accommodate though.

I live in the westend so I like to take Ginny to the beach, sometimes we take the ferry over to Kits. We also like to hit the trails in Stanley Park. We also hang out at the Nelson dog park.

I wouldn't call the walks too strenuous, as Ginny likes to stop and smell EVERYTHING. But we tend to go for 2 long ones a day - first thing in the morning and again in the evening (about an hour and a 1/2 each) and then do several shorter visits to the park the rest of the day.

I'm able to do any kind of walk that a dog requires. I enjoy leisurely walks, but I also love taking dogs on runs or hikes. I never mind stopping at a park, open field or water space along the way to play fetch or other games. I have lots of experience walking more than one dog at a time and dogs that have leash aggression.

The walks will always be private. The route will depend on The location of the clients House, Preferably involving a green space in downtown Vancouver (such as Stanley Park and the Sea Wall). It will be an active experience for the dog as I am young and enjoy exercise. I also do my best to tailor the walk to the dogs likes and dislikes, for example, if they enjoy dog interaction i will go to a dog park which will allow them this.

I am a very active person and generally enjoy leisurely walks but at a brisk pace preferably one dog. Depending on preference and dog type if there is an off leash area I love tossing the ball around and playing as well. Walks are all about having fun and enjoying some exercise:)

Solo dog walks only. Can be a leisurely walk through the park or can go for a run to burn off energy. I leash-trained my own dog from puppy-age. Will walk based on your dog's needs (i.e. will not go running with a senior dog etc.). If you prefer I can follow familiar routes with your dog for comfort.

Our Nature Walks let city dogs explore, discover, and romp around in the beautiful trails of Stanley Park. Getting back to nature is not only therapeutic for humans, but essential for dog health and happiness. While you are at work or busy, allowing your dog to exercise, play, socialize, and go on an hour long adventure will ensure a tired pooch by the time you return home!

I am flexible. If your dog can handle a day hike in the mountains, I'd love to bring him or her along. But if he or she would prefer something more leisurely, that can be done as well. I live mere steps from the sea wall and several parks, so there a lots of options. You tell me what works best!.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Vancouver

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Vancouver, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Vancouver. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
