I usually tend to take doggies on leisure walks but if they seem pretty excited, I will pick up the pace and even jog a bit with them to use up some of that energy! :) I only take one doggie out with me usually but if they are a package deal, I'm willing to take two dogs together!

I love solo pup walks so I can give them all of my attention. I am also more than happy to customize the walk to what suits your dog's needs.
Whether it be an urban walk...or spending some time at a dog park with some of their favorite friends...if you have an active pup then let's go on a hike!
I'm easy going and will go with the flow.

Depends on the dog. I would walk slow for a senior dog (no hills if needed)
I can walk very fast for an active dog or one who needs more exercise. I am in shape and walk my own dogs a lot. I like to go to deer lake (Burnaby), bridgeman (north van), pitt river dykes, buntzen lake...I usually walk my one senior dog on his own as my little weiner dog doesn't like walking (prefers ball in the back yard!). I walk him no more than an hour as his hips are starting to really bother him. He would be great with another senior dog for walking.
If I had a more active dog I would walk him/her on their own. Walks are normally 60-90 mins on leash. I'm comfortable with off leash but not until I really know the dog.

Am happy to walk multiple dogs. I am quite active, so would love a dog who can run, but also am happy to have a more leisurely walk. Having two family dogs, I am used to managing two dogs on a walk. I often take my dogs to walk around deer lake, it usually takes about 45mins. I am happy to walk rain or shine... (it is Vancouver after all!!) and I love to get out for as long as I can to enjoy the fresh air! When my lab was younger I would love to take him running with me, but as he as gotten older, it is harder for him to run. I LOVE hiking, so any dog who is active enough to hike is a perfect fit for me!

Leisurely walks around your neighbourhood with your dog only. Ideal for more senior dogs and puppies who may not be able to keep up with a big group hike. Can also do slow jogs of up to 30 minutes, but I am a very slow runner - definitely won't be enough exercise for a very energetic dog!

I would say a leisurely and also an active walk would be best, I understand that all dogs have different needs in terms of exercise. 1-2 dogs at a time is my experience. Going to stanely park, or central park or any off leash park would be ideal. I don't mind going out of my way for a good walk. Or even just around Burnaby where I live.

Walks can either be leisurely or active depending on what your dogs needs and what you prefer. I can do either solo walks or small pack walks. I can do training walks for an additional charge if you need help with leash pulling or other problems you encounter on walks.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Burnaby

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Burnaby, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Burnaby. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
