Hello fellow dog lovers! My name is Katie, and I am a stay at home mother and grad student (online classes). What does that mean to you? I am home AT LEAST 95% of the day EVERY day and can take care of your dog's every need, from potty breaks to playing to brushing, bathing, feeding and medication administration! I have had large breed dogs in my household since I was born. Most recently, I
owned a 12 year old Alaskan Malamute (90 lbs) that sadly had to be put down, and a German Shepard mix (65 lbs) that I had to foster when I moved to Paris, France in 2014. There are 5 other dogs in his foster home that have taken him into their pack, and as much as I would like, I just don't have the heart to separate him from his new family, but he comes to visit often. I have a large fenced in yard with a swimming pool that provides a huge area for playing fetch, etc. I will usually take the dogs outside for potty breaks and to play and run around about every 60-90 minutes. When the dogs are playing in the yard they are accompanied and supervised by me for about 98% of the time, unless I need to change or feed my son. I do allow dogs in the pool, so if your dog enjoys swimming they are free to do so! I enjoy being outside and there is always some sort of yard work that needs to be done while I'm tossing the ball around. The perimeter fences in the yard have been secured for small dogs so that none are able to sneak out past their curfew. Inside my home, I built a 4 foot high picket fence between the dining room and living room and can block off access to the kitchen, so if on the rare occasion I am not home (and so long as your dogs can't clear a 4 foot fence) they are free to roam around the kitchen and dining room which is all tile so they don't need to be in a kennel unless that is your/their preference. I walked my dogs at least a mile every day, so I am capable of handling more than one large dog at a time, and love to go for walks in the neighborhood with my son as long as the temperature allows us to do so. My son is 18 months old and is used to being around large dogs and does extremely well with them. I was a 911 operator for the Phoenix Fire Department for 13 years before moving to Paris last year, and although I am not certified in dog first aid/CPR, I have coached people on how to do it over the phone, so I am familiar with it and am confident that I could provide emergency care if a situation were to arise. I am capable of caring for more than one dog at a time, and will do everything I can to alleviate any worries or anxieties while you're away from your kiddos, including frequent updates and photos. I know how much dogs mean to their owners and how hard it is to find reliable and trustworthy caregivers when you are not around. I am dedicated to making sure that you and your pups are comfortable and that they keep to their usual routine while they are here, so if they are allowed on furniture or sleep in your bed they are welcome to do so here, but if they are used to sleeping in a kennel I will accommodate that as well. I do not require meet and greets, but will happily accommodate them if you would like. I am always just a phone call, text or email away. I am easygoing, laid back, very flexible, and would love to provide the same TLC to your dog(s) while you are away as you do on a daily basis. I provide 24/7 care unless I need to run to the store or if I have an appointment that can't be rescheduled, and often times if I do need to run out for a brief period my neighbors will come over to supervise just to make sure that your furry family members are safe. I would be open to the idea of pickup/dropoff under certain circumstances, so if that is something that you are looking for please don't hesitate to get in touch with me. Also, do not be alarmed if your pup(s) come home tired. I have had many guests double check to make sure their pups weren't sick during their stay because they were so pooped upon their return, but it has always been due to playing all day and they are back to their normal selves after some rest at home!
