I am very active and athletic, so depending on the dogs active levels I can walk or run with the dog for as long as the dog seems to need. I can probably handle up to four dogs at a time depending on how strong they are. If this becomes difficult I can walk dogs separately, but they will all get a chance to go on a walk.

I will walk the dogs around neighborhood or within the area at the pace the dog wants to walk or a light jog if the dog wants to run. I am willing to walk with multiple dogs or one at a time which ever is preferred by pet owner. Can train dog to walk on the leash properly.

I can walk your dogs however you like! If it is a young pup, I can be active and run a bit with him/her. If the dog is old, I can take it slow and have a nice, peaceful walk. Just tell me what you prefer and I'll do it:) I can also do a solo walk or one with multiple dogs!

I can drive to your home and pick up 1-3 dogs at a time and take them to a dog park, a secluded park, or a location of your choice to enjoy a leisurely or active walk. The location and nature of the walk is completely up to the dog owner and I am more than happy to bring along food, water, and toys.

If you have a more active dog that needs to get a lot of energy out I don't mind running with them, it gives me a chance to exercise otherwise just a nice stroll to let the dog enjoy the fresh air and sniff around is fine too. I don't mind walking more than one dog at a time but if it's a big dog I prefer only walking one at a time just to make sure everything is under control and no problems come about. When I walk my dogs I alway try to walk them long enough that they get their energy out and that they have plenty of exercise!

Walks with me will consist of: playing with toys such as a ball or frisbee or whatever their favorite toy is if they have one. I am very fit therefore multiple walks and long walks do not bother me. My main concern is the happiness of the dog. There are other dog owners that live at my apartment complex and could be walking their dog while I am walking yours meaning that they may cross paths and play with each other if they get along. I will try my best to be sure that your dog will not be walking on pavement or concrete but in the grass because I do not want to burn their paws or cause any discomfort. Depending on the day, we may go to the park, walk around the property of my apartment (there is a ton of space!), or on my college campus at the beautiful and illustrious University of Alabama. I like to help at the animal shelter and sometimes will rent a dog to take out, if your dog is one that likes company that can be arranged as well. I will keep a backpack on me that holds water, treats, and first aid for the dog. The safety of your dog is extremely important to me and I will be sure to keep your dog out of harms way. I am very responsible and reliable as well as having a genuine love for animals, your dog is guaranteed to be happy and satisfied. I do not tolerate animal abuse of any kind so that is not something you have to worry about either.

I will walk your dog around the neighborhood or will take the dog to a dog park or park and walk around the park. The walks can be either leisurely or active depending on how far the dog likes to walk. I feel comfortable only walking one dog at a time. If the dogs are small, I can walk two at a time.

Leisurely walks are completely my favorite. I love to walk in calm neighborhoods or even on the River Walk, nothing to strenuous for your pet. As well, I love going to the dog park. I feel as though going there, dogs get a better sense of encouragement and time to play.

I am open to whatever walking style that best fits your pup, whether it be hiking, a walk in the park, or just a casual walk around the neighborhood. If you are also looking for some socialization for you furry friend, I will gladly bring my own dog friendly puppy named Koda along on the walks to make a new friend. I am comfortable walking any dogs big or small. I have experience with pups who are very strong and tend to pull when you walk them. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask. I want to give you and your pet the best experience possible.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Tuscaloosa

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Tuscaloosa, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Tuscaloosa. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
