About Ashley and Robby

22 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
About me:
I grew up with dogs and horses my entire life, both training and competing with them. Almost ten years ago, I made my passion my profession by becoming a dog trainer. I have a Dutch Shepherd and a Belgian Malinois (both large dogs), as well as a Miniature Schnauzer (small dog) who I compete with in numerous (9!) dog sports. We are a very active dog family, and our dogs are a huge part of our lives. Both my work time and my free time are spent with dogs, and I love every minute of it. I have experience caring for and training all different sizes, personalities, temperaments and energy levels.

Our home is clean, non-smoking and dog friendly. We wash and sanitize our outdoor area daily, and treat the entire house and outdoors for fleas and ticks monthly. We have a medium yard, but my dogs are spoiled house dogs, so there's no way my dogs would want to stay out there, since they'd much rather be inside with us. We use only natural and safe for pets cleaners in our home, as safety while your pet is with us, is paramount.

We are excited to welcome your dog into our lives, while you are away, and treat them like a member of our family. They live inside with us, and are so well cared for, they may not want to go back (in a good way)! They can be loose, crated or any combination of the two, whatever your dog is used to at home. Our goal is to make them as comfortable as possible, so their time away from you is stress free. I do keep boarding dogs separate from my dogs (who are crated in their own room), to avoid any possible problems. I find this keeps all dogs the happiest, as they do not have to constantly compete for my attention.

We accept and love all breeds and sizes! I like to know what the dog's regular schedule looks like, so their transition to my house is as stress free as possible. Routines are an integral part of a pet's life, and the more I can mimic them, the less stressful it is for your pets.

New clients, please answer all of the following questions:
-Desired drop off and pick up times
-What does your pet's regular feeding and potty schedule look like?
-Do they have lots of energy, or do they just want to cuddle on the couch all day?
-Is your pet a fence jumper?
-Do they have separation anxiety?
-Does your pet mark in unfamiliar places?
-Do they chew or take things off the counter?
-Does your pet like to bark?
-Do they have any special needs, allergies or take any medications?
All of these things are important to know, so I can keep them safe and happy during their stay with me.

Things to bring with your dog on their visit:
-enough food (portioned out per meal) for the entire stay, plus one day
-medication/supplements clearly labeled with dosage instructions
-collar or harness
-emergency contact information

***Please do not bring toys or beds, as they may be lost or damaged during play. We also have extra crates, should your dog prefer their own quiet space to relax.***

I accept altered, unaltered, and females in heat. All sizes and breeds are loved!

For unaltered dogs that board at my house, I do require they are crate trained. Because I accept both unaltered males and females, I need to be able to safety contain and securely separate them, should I have a guest who is in/comes into heat.I find it is better to be safe than sorry.

My rates are for 24 hour period, and later pick up times can be arranged at an additional rate.

I'm gonna bring them again sometime and hope for some trust showing me where our dogs actually were for three days , very closed off and had to prod to get a photo- it was alarming. When I got there she was out but her fiancé would be home, and he held out the leash at first like he thought dogs are dirty or something, it was SO off putting.?!? Not even close to the way any dog vacay is supposed to begin . I had to repeatedly ask him to help get them to him - he's just COLD. It was frightening both the dog and me, then he got all snobby- was not -- I was scared to leave them there. Then he interrupted my sentence mid word/ cut me off and looking not at me - but at the floor- he goes" Just Go." And that I nearly took both dogs and marched out. There is zero parking- they expect you to be in a red zone and all of these neighbors are checking you out- very very sketchy.
I was not fully finished reading when I booked it - my first ever try- and so did not see that we bring food- I was in a rush / and it's a half hour drive I've never driven there before, I asked where the closest shop is to pick them up food - and got this ATtitude. Super scary. Hoping he is just ultra shy therefore rude beyond all norms- I gulped and left. As far as I can tell she doesn't reside there- she's gone when you come back and it was?? She got there when I came to get them but I had my suspicion. Something's not quite right in this one. I just was afraid of them. The photo looked like they were anxious
Ashley is a great dog-sitter! Only sitter that I will be taking my dog to from now on. She updated me on how my dog was doing and also responded quick to any questions I had. Thank You!
Ashley's home was very clean and made me comfortable leaving my dog with her. My dog looked like he had a great time. The little gift bag when leaving was a great plus too! Thank you!
I can tell my pup had a great stay at Ashley's, and it was very sweet that she even gave us a cute Christmas treat for him to take home. Will definitely book again :)
Ashley was great with our dog. Our dog seemed to have had no problems and she gave us daily updates how our dog was doing. He was in a very good mood when we got back as he had made friends with another dog that she had been looking after and it clearly seemed that he was having loads of fun.
This was our first experience with both DogVacay and with Ashley R... I can't say enough about how delightful it was to work with Ashley. My little munchkin was immediately comfortable with Ashley and her home and when I arrived to pick her up, she greeted me briefly and then was more interested in hanging at Ashley's with her new friends than she was in leaving with me! Just the way you want your dog to respond. She was clearly well loved and attended and I'm sure she won't hesitate to get out of the car or into Ashley's home next time!!!
Great! Please see my other review.
Ashley made me feel comfortable leaving my baby for the first time. She was responsive; house was clean and inviting (it doesn't look like she has dogs, nor boards them). She sent pictures throughout the visit, and sent us with a gift/ treat bag. I will use her again. Thanks, Ashley!
Ashley was very responsive and accommodating. Her home was modern, clean, and well-designed for humans or pets!

The girls were immediately at home and relaxed with Ashley just after we arrived. We came back to content pups and they rolled into their normal routine right away--that's what we're looking for!
Ashley took great care of Lobo, who is shy and doesn't have much experience off our property. He came back tired and happy, which is about all I can ask for. Ashley was very communicative and easy to work with, and she sent us home with a goodie bag of treats.
Ashley has a way with dogs, my dog usually cries when I leave her. She se med so content and at home here. I felt very comfortable leaving her here.
Ashley was great with our puppy, Sequoia. In fact when I came to pick our puppy up she wasn't interested in leaving and just walked over to the doggy bed with a bone like I wasn't even there. Ashley was flexible with pick up/drop off times and even provided a gift bag for Sequoia. Thank you Ashley!
Ashley was absolutely fantastic! She was able to keep our dog, Che, on very short notice after the previous host fell through. Being first timers to the program and having our first host reservation go so wrong, we were very anxious about leaving Che with anyone. She was able to put us both at ease, spending time talking and sharing her love for her own dogs and her plan of care for Che. She texted us a picture when we asked about his night (we could barely wait til 9...) He was on a plushy comfy dog bed and looked alert and happy!

When we picked up Che that afternoon, he was calm and relaxed and ready to go, so I knew he hadn't been cooped up. Ashley gave us a little treat bag full of all his favorites... Her very own dog biscuits, a squeak toy, and poop bags... Lol!

Thank you Ashley, for the fantastic time! Che will be back to see you again in July!
Ashley was wonderful to work with and we we will certainly be using her again! Its amazing to leave your dogs for a week - go on vacation - and come home to better behaved dogs! Could not recommend this very talented trainer / boarder more!
