I grew up with dogs and horses my entire life, both training and competing with them. Almost ten years ago, I made my passion my profession by becoming a dog trainer. I have a Dutch Shepherd and a Belgian Malinois (both large dogs), as well as a Miniature Schnauzer (small dog) who I compete with in numerous (9!) dog sports. We are a very active dog family, and our dogs are a huge part of our lives. Both my work time and my free time are spent with dogs, and I love every minute of it. I have experience caring for and training all different sizes, personalities, temperaments and energy levels.
Our home is clean, non-smoking and dog friendly. We wash and sanitize our outdoor area daily, and treat the entire house and outdoors for fleas and ticks monthly. We have a medium yard, but my dogs are spoiled house dogs, so there's no way my dogs would want to stay out there, since they'd much rather be inside with us. We use only natural and safe for pets cleaners in our home, as safety while your pet is with us, is paramount.
We are excited to welcome your dog into our lives, while you are away, and treat them like a member of our family. They live inside with us, and are so well cared for, they may not want to go back (in a good way)! They can be loose, crated or any combination of the two, whatever your dog is used to at home. Our goal is to make them as comfortable as possible, so their time away from you is stress free. I do keep boarding dogs separate from my dogs (who are crated in their own room), to avoid any possible problems. I find this keeps all dogs the happiest, as they do not have to constantly compete for my attention.
We accept and love all breeds and sizes! I like to know what the dog's regular schedule looks like, so their transition to my house is as stress free as possible. Routines are an integral part of a pet's life, and the more I can mimic them, the less stressful it is for your pets.
New clients, please answer all of the following questions:
-Desired drop off and pick up times
-What does your pet's regular feeding and potty schedule look like?
-Do they have lots of energy, or do they just want to cuddle on the couch all day?
-Is your pet a fence jumper?
-Do they have separation anxiety?
-Does your pet mark in unfamiliar places?
-Do they chew or take things off the counter?
-Does your pet like to bark?
-Do they have any special needs, allergies or take any medications?
All of these things are important to know, so I can keep them safe and happy during their stay with me.
Things to bring with your dog on their visit:
-enough food (portioned out per meal) for the entire stay, plus one day
-medication/supplements clearly labeled with dosage instructions
-collar or harness
-emergency contact information
***Please do not bring toys or beds, as they may be lost or damaged during play. We also have extra crates, should your dog prefer their own quiet space to relax.***
I accept altered, unaltered, and females in heat. All sizes and breeds are loved!
For unaltered dogs that board at my house, I do require they are crate trained. Because I accept both unaltered males and females, I need to be able to safety contain and securely separate them, should I have a guest who is in/comes into heat.I find it is better to be safe than sorry.
My rates are for 24 hour period, and later pick up times can be arranged at an additional rate.
