Dog Paradise in Middletown!
Pet care experience
**ATTENTION ALL POTENTIAL NEW CLIENTS- PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING FIVE (5) POINTS BEFORE SENDING A REQUEST** 1. We are open to new clients, HOWEVER, if your dog/puppy is not housebroken (this means- still having accidents in the house, chewing issues, etc) they MUST be crate-trained. We cannot take dogs who are dog or cat aggressive. There are NO exceptions. 2. ALL DOGS MUST BE PROPERLY LEASH-TRAINED. We understand and can handle puppies that are still learning, and ask that you have a no-pull or front-clip harness for them to walk on. However, we can no longer accept untrained-on-leash adult dogs. Our fenced-in area is not connected to our home and requires us to walk all dogs up to the area, therefore, we can only accept dogs who walk well (without severe pulling) on leash. 3. WE CANNOT TAKE DOGS WITH SEPERATION ANXIETY- all dogs that stay with us must be comfortable being in a room, by themselves, without a human for a few minutes to an hour. If they are not able to do that, then they MUST BE CRATE-TRAINED and WELL-BEHAVED IN THE CRATE. 3a. CRATE-TRAINED MEANS: they are comfortable going into their crate, they are able to be left in their crate for 1-2 hours without issue, and if necessary, able to sleep the night (6-8 hours), in the crate, without any major issues. 4. MEET AND GREETS ARE REQUIRED AT LEAST ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE FOR ALL NEW CLIENTS, no exceptions. We CANNOT accommodate same day requests for new clients. 5. YOU MUST HAVE A COMPLETED PET PROFILE: I will NOT respond to requests that do not have their pet profiles filled out. Finally, I truly hate writing in caps lock, but with 8 years experience of caring for dogs in my own home via Rover, I have found it is easier to make our requirements extremely clear from the start. I hope you all can appreciate and understand that. ********* We are two dog-loving fools living on 116 acres- we basically live in a park! There are two ponds, lots of space to run, a mountain to climb if your dog is up to it, and furry friends for your pal to play with. We have a fenced-in area as well! Resident dogs: Seamus, an 12 year old lab/hound mix rescue. Seamus is very laid-back, loves to lay out in the sun, and loves the variety of couches and chairs to choose from. He is great with all dogs and loves to give them all kisses. Chico is a 2 year old Sato mix from Puerto Rico who is very attached to Seamus. He's calm and sweet and loves to curl up under a blanket or right next to Seamus. Emrick is our 2 year old Sato mix from Puerto Rico (different litter than Chico) who is a party girl who LOVES all dogs and will match any play level your dog is at. We call her The Blanket because she is also a champion cuddlebug who will lay right on top of you or her dog brothers. Huxley the Cat is a dog stuck in a cat's body and will be outside running with the dogs and going on hikes with us. Stu the Cat is a handsome tuxedo fella who LOVES ALL DOGS. That’s why we adopted him- he loves dogs too much to not live with us. Your dog will have the run of the land and house and will receive tons of attention and love. If your dog needs to be on leash during a walk, no problem! If your dog has a specific walking schedule or needs special attention, we are more than happy to accommodate those requests. We make an effort to keep the dog's schedule as regular as possible, so that way they're a happy pup when you come home! A little about us: Between the both of us we have over 40 years of dog owning experience under our belt. Meaghan is the full-time employee of this operation, while Mike is a swim coach who works evenings, so playtime is always supervised and if we need to leave the house, it is for a minimal amount of time. All dogs are kept in safe areas that work for them, whether it be their own crate from home, a room in our house, or roaming free from couch to couch. We accommodate you and your pet and will discuss every option with you before the stay. Any questions, please ask! We look forward to treating your dog to some country comfort while you're out of town.
Reviews
Meg and Mike are the absolute best!!! If you’re not bringing your pets here while you travel then you have to ask yourself “do you really love your pets”?
Meaghan was very easy to work with and welcomed our two dogs into her home with open arms. She was accommodating to our change in drop off time and updated us throughout the week about our dogs adjusting and sent multiple pictures. Would definitely recommend!
Very responsive! Thanks again
My dog always has a great time.

We have three dogs of our own who love to play, snuggle, sleep with all dogs they meet. Dogs get plenty of play time outside in our fenced-in area or in our large living room and plenty of nap time and cuddles when it's time to wind down!

Information Meaghan C. would like to know about your pet
Due to the fact that we live on a large property with lots of woods and have 3 outdoor cats, we CANNOT take dogs that have high prey drives, are serious flight risks, or who have loud/excessive barking issues. We require a meet and greet for all canine guests. We have a large house that provides separate areas for dogs when it comes to feeding and down time- some dogs just need a little quiet space to relax and chill, and we have many, many options for that! Otherwise, any other special instructions or insight to any quirks would be most welcome!
A typical day
Mike and I know that the dogs rule the house. Dogs that have owner permission to be on couches and beds will have full reign, and we're always outside doing work so your dog will receive more than ample outdoor time. We have numerous acres of land to walk around, and if your dog is up to it, there will be lots of hikes through the woods while they're here. If your dog requires leashed walks, that not a problem at all!

I have been dog sitting for over 8 years, full-time sitting/boarding for the last 6, so pet care IS my daily routine. Whatever your dog's schedule is, either potty or food wise, we can accommodate for.
