8 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi there!
My husband and I love animals. We have 3 dogs, 2 newfoundlands and a yorkshire/maltese mix, and four cats!
We have often run into the problems that we can't find affordable places where to leave our pets when we travel for work or go on vacation. In addition, our pets are our family and when we go on vacation we don't want to leave them in these boarding places where they are left in a cage (no matter how comfortable) and no matter how good the kennel is, my pets are never as comfortable as they are at home.
So this is what we offer: we take your pets (cats and dogs only) in our home, we treat your pets like ours. They are not confined to a cage (ever, unless you require it) and they live with us. We give them a home away from home so that they are 100% happy and you are 100% worry free!

In more details, this is what we offer:
Your pets will be treated like family, with ours. They will not be watched 24/7, but they will be loved, fed, brushed and taken to the vet in case of problems.
We have a big (8 acres) property with a lot of grass and trees and shade. Our pets have constant access to the house and the "yard", an enclosed 5,000 sqft area of lawn and trees and bushes for their leisure and enjoyment!
As long as your pet(s) are not aggressive and ok with other animals (they don't have to like them, but they cannot be a threat to them), they are most welcome in our home.
Our cats are an indoor/outdoor "I do what I want" type of cat, so your cats would be treated the same. If your cat needs to be only indoors, we can certainly handle it however your pet will of course not be given as much liberty and freedom to roam the house, as another pet would.
We do require to meet with you and your pet(s) beforehand to ensure that all pets go along fine and that you are feeling safe at the idea of leaving your pet with us.
We also are very careful with taking two pets from different families, and certainly never do without letting the pet owners know about it. We usually do it only if we know the pets well enough that we are sure there will not be any conflict.
Also, we understand if you have many pets like we do, and so we do not have a restriction on the number of pets (as long as they know and are comfortable with each other)...
Finally we require that your pets are up to date with vaccines (rabies, bordetella, distemper/pv), that they be microchipped and that you give us their health records and your vet address in case of an emergency. I personally find that the health record booklet that you can buy for a few bucks at Petsmart is wonderful to keep track of vaccines etc... In addition, because we live in a rural area, your pets MUST be on frontline or similar tick/flea treatment. This is for the safety of your pet and is not negotiable. If we have a doubt or if we find a tick or flea on your pet, we will immediately treat them and you will be charged for it.
Our prices are on a basis of $35/night /pet. For more than 1 pet, discounts apply on a case by case basis. Price vary depending on your pet's needs.
We are looking forward to meeting you and your furry friend!

It is hard to over state the relief and joy we have at finding this place. We have two dogs who spent two weeks as guests of what I can only describe as a doggy paradise.
Cecilia and Ethan are gracious hosts to a charming 1800's farm that could easily be a bed and breakfast for humans. But we aren't that lucky. Instead, they have dedicated parts of the house to dogs, with an ample back yard and acreage to boot.
Dogs can lounge on the furniture during the day, and share their bed at night. With 2.5 dogs of their own (if you meet Moustique you'll understand why I only count him as 1/2)
I'm not sure how they all fit, but it works. And it works well. Not only did we receive frequent photos of our babies playing, lounging, cuddling, but the dogs were genuinely happy to be there. Of our dogs, we have an easy cocker spaniel who would follow anyone with a cookie and a more challenging bulldog who is loyal to a fault (read: sometimes aggressive). He can be a handful, but Splash and Puddles (resident slobber providers) became play buddies. They returned home fit and healthy. Their demeanor has been pleasant and social. Our fat cookie lover may have lost a pound because she has been much more playful and engaged recently. I honestly feel like time spent there isn't a stopgap to our dogs, simply a place to spend time until we get home and life resumes, but rather a boone to their social development....truly the essence of a doggy vacation.

Our dog had a great experience with Cecelia, Ethan and their dogs and cats. He was welcomed into their home as one of the family.
They changed their dogs feeding schedule to accommodate our dog. He had walks in the woods and got to swim in the river behind their house. He had access to a large fenced yard at all times through a doggie door. He had their dogs and cats to play with. He was even welcomed on their bed at night, sleeping with the cat and one of their dogs.
We were late to pick him up and they were extremely flexible and accommodating.
We received daily emails and pictures.
We will definitely bring our dog back when we go away again.
