I'm a physician that has had a dog for 9 years. My wife and I currently own 2 dogs, a border collie and corgi. We have a 3-bedroom home with a fenced in backyard where we play fetch with our dogs twice per day. We live in a quiet neighborhood where we walk our dogs at least once per day. We have a guest room that functions as a dog room with a baby gate in the door frame if they need alone time. Otherwise, your dog will be free to walk around and lounge where ever they choose. As a health care provider I have no problem administering oral or injectable medication.
My general policy is that your dog must be house trained, otherwise they will be outside or in the basement. Also, I will not walk any dog that is not leash trained. Exceptions are puppies that need frequent potty breaks or elderly dogs with incontinence issues.
