Dog Loving Couple, Always Playtime

Pet care experience

I live in an apartment with my girlfriend, Marilia, and my dog, Roxy. As a traveler, I understand how stressful it is to find someone to take care of Roxy while I travel. Let me help you out! Roxy is a very friendly and loving dog and gets along with all dogs I've introduced her to. About this sitter: I am a 29 year old professional. I work in Product Management for a technology company in Menlo Park. My girlfriend is a Visual Merchandiser for a furniture company in Palo Alto. I rescued my Pit Bull / American Bull Dog mix Roxy about 6 years ago from the DelCo SPCA and have been a dog lover since. Why I love dog sitting I rescued Roxy from the Delaware County SPCA 6 years ago. Our best guess was that she was a 2 year old American Bull Dog / Pit Bull mix. Her original name was Edna, which was fitting for her old soul. I decided to adopt Roxy because she was incredibly sweet. After 6 months, her stomach problems and skin condition had cleared up and she gained weight. After 18 months, I heard her bark for the first time. After 2 years, she could walk down the street without being scared of trash cans and her own shadow. In fact, she was quite the athletic and energetic dog once we got her out of her shell. As Roxy gets older, though, she loves laying around (as you can see in my pictures!). However, don't let that fool you... she still has an explosive amount of energy in short bursts. She will *literally* run herself to the point that she can't walk anymore. She loves playing with other dogs but will give them their space, too. Marilia has had her Labrador Retriever, Lola, for 9 years. Lola is in Brazil with her family. My experience administering medication Yes, we have had to give pills to Roxy and allergy shots in the neck to a friend's dog.

Although the stay didn't work out (due to my dog's issues) I wanted to take the time to review Frank. He was extremely professional and fantastically flexible even after Penny decided she was going to be queen dog not let the resident dog anywhere near the resident people. I would highly recommend Frank to anyone who wants to leave their dog with an awesome couple.

Frank & Marilia are fantastic. They had great communication and a good response time, with easy, flexible scheduling. We loved the photo updates we got which really put us at ease while away. Frank, Marilia, and Roxy really made Maggie feel welcome, comfortable, and like she was at home; I think she didn't even want to leave! 10/10 would let Maggie stay with them again!

Frank is a natural with dogs! Practically a dog whisperer. My dog loves him, and he's watched my little Spunker several times while I was away at karate camp.

I've known Frank for almost 2 years now, and Roxy, his dog, was the first member of his family that I met. I could see right away that he had an unconditional love for his furry companion. When we went to visit my family in Brazil, he showed the same love and attention to Lola, my parents yellow lab, and he would spend most of the days just cuddling with her on the floor! I would not hesitate to trust him and leave my pets under his care whether for a day or two or an extended vacation!

Information Frank F. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences for me. Roxy likes playing with all dogs. Things I want to know: 1) Does your dog socialize well with other dogs? (Roxy? Dog parks?) 2) Does your dog require any medicine? (Pills? Injections?) 3) Does your dog require any special feeding procedures? (Food aggression? Mixed wet food with dry? 1x/day? 2x/day? etc.) 4) Does your dog need a lot of exercise? (Dog park? Time in the backyard? A 1 mile walk? 2 miles? 3 miles? etc)

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Depending on your dogs fitness level, we will either take your dog for a walk or a run. Where we do it also depends on the fitness level. We can do: 1) Flat terrain - sidewalks around Roxborough 2) Hilly terrain - sidewalks around Manayunk 3) Hilly terrain in nature - Wissahickon park which is about 10 minutes away (walking time) 4) Dog park - Pretzel Park has a dog park which is about 5 minutes away (walking time) 5) Swimming - If your dog swims, Kitchen Ln has the infamous "dog beach" which is about 15 minutes away (driving and walking time) Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog has a number of options: 1) Either a dog bed or the couch in the living room 2) Either a dog bed or bed in one of the guest bedrooms 3) Either a dog bed or our bed in our bedroom Time I'll spend with your dog Between myself and Marilia we are home almost the entirety of the day with the exception of a few hours at most.
