We are semi-retired, can't live without dogs, and love this idea of an Online Dog B & B! We understand how hard it is (expensive too) to leave a beloved pet in a noisy kennel full of lonely, barking dogs.
We have a large dog door from the kitchen out to open acreage, and a secure indoor/outdoor enclosure around back. There is also a chain-link "dog-run" which I would only use if your large dog became difficult.
I have been pre-occupied with rescues and re-homing lately and so I am experienced, especially with smaller dogs. Our dogs quickly take their cues on Family (Pack) Etiquette.
Because each dog/length of stay is different, exact daily rate varies.
A house-trained, mature dog is $15/day
A rowdy large puppy requiring attentive, hands-on training could cost up to $30.
Depending on how long the stay is, the price goes down (obviously the first few days are the most intensive, due to the learning curve.
I would like to meet you at the nearby convenience store prior to letting you inspect my house. If all goes well, and we make an agreement, you bring your dog's food and bed and leash, tell me it's habits, and then depart without fanfare.
Then we let all dogs run wild and play, wrestle, drink water and nap. We go on several walks per day around the property. If your dog is a runner, he must stay on the leash or be hooked onto the outdoor chain. If he keeps close, we open the dog-door and he's free to come and go.
When I leave for errands in town, I walk them first and lock them inside the house while I'm out. (I have tile flooring and remove all throw rugs prior to your dog's arrival.)
Every day or so, I will text you photos of them having a great time while you are enjoying your vacation/out-of-town business.
