I'm a fun-loving gal who believes that dogs and cats are some of God's greatest gifts to mankind. Simply, they are family members! My Golden Retriever is my furry best friend, so naturally, she has a lot of say so in my life. She is the one who convinced me that I'd make an awesome sitter/walker/etc. She said, "Mom, you take such great care of me, and you need to make some funds to buy me more toys and treats, so why not tell everyone about your skills and experience so that I can have tons of fun meeting new friends!?" I figured she had a point.
Growing up as an animal-lover, I chose jobs, such as pet-sitting and working at a boarding kennel for dogs, cats, birds, and other critters and even volunteered my time to animal shelters as much as I could. Working at the boarding kennel was a high school job of mine. I enjoyed it so much that I went back to work there after college. Oftentimes the kennel owner would travel and leave the entire kennel business in my care. On average, I took care of 40-50 dogs and cats by myself, sometimes nearly 70 on holidays....Yes, I have started out my Christmas morning by feeding, playing with, and cleaning up after that many pets, whew! I catered to each of their special feeding instructions, medications, bathing, and unique qualities/personalities (escape artists, separation anxiety, fear of storms, aggression, etc). I did quite a bit of pet-sitting for family, friends, and even my school teachers (yep, I was always the "teacher's pet"). I've owned dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, rabbits, lizards, and fish.
Currently, I'm available for overnight stays at your home. Drop-in visits and dog walking are options if you live near the Oak Park area. Diamond would love to have a playdate, if your dog would enjoy spending time with a furry friend.
Feel free to contact me with absolutely any questions that you may have, and let's schedule a meet-and-greet. Looking forward to meeting your furry family members soon! :)
