About Devon

15 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I am an NYC-based performer & dance teacher living in a beautiful spacious apartment at 73rd & Columbus. I LOVE dogs and love having a furry friend at home to look after and play with!

I grew up with three beautiful yellow labradors at home and in recent years have become close with my good friend's tiny chihuahua named Stella, who I also watch frequently; because I am away doing regional theatre most summers I have not been able to adopt a dog of my own yet, so this is the perfect alternative to get my fix of puppy love!

My neighborhood is extremely dog friendly, and I am less than one block away from Central Park, the perfect location for dog walks.

I spend a lot of time at home so giving your dog the personal attention and love it needs will not be a problem. Your doggy is welcome to sleep in bed with me if they like!

I particularly LOVE labradors & retrievers, beagles, chihuahuas, dachshunds, corgis, huskies, spaniels…but am open to just about any breed as long as they are house-trained (this is a must)!

I take lots of pictures and am happy to send you daily updates of how much fun your pooch is having!

***Rates are for a 24-hr period and will be pro-rated if exceeded. Holidays are a busy time and may affect rates--just ask. Also, please note that DogVacay takes a sizable cut of my pay, so tips are highly appreciated. :)

I look forward to meeting your pup and he or she will have a great stay!

I could not be happier with the service I received from Devon! My dog, Gremlin, has a few health issues, so I worry about leaving him. She instantly bonded with Gremlin and catered to his needs flawlessly. Some of her best qualities are her ability to communicate, listen, and follow instructions. She goes above and beyond my expectations and hopes for dog sitter and is extremely responsible. I know Gremlin had a great time. New York is a big city with a log of people, so it can be hard to find those hidden gems and I definitely recommend Devon to others looking for the right person to care for their dog(s)!

Devon is a great host who I would trust time and again to look after my puggle, Oberon. Her chihuahua Kira seems to love the company and gets along incredibly well with Obi. I was frequently updated during my time away and when I came back, Obi was incredibly well with Obi. I was frequently updated during my time away and when I came back, Obi was happy, well-fed and ready for a big sleep after his exciting vacation. Would definitely recommend to anyone in need of a flexible and caring sitter

Devon was a great host for our dog Maya. We had to leave town on short notice and Devon was extremely accommodating and understanding. Maya had a great visit and we really appreciated everything she did for us. Her communication was very prompt and great visit and we really appreciated everything she did for us. I would never use Devon again. Here's why:
I dropped Riley off around 12:45p Sunday. There were 3 OTHER DOGS there, 1 of which belongs to Devon (her page seems to have been updated to reflect this after our booking), but 0 of which had been (her page seems to have been updated to reflect this after our booking), but 0 of which had been discussed with me prior to booking. Her dog uses wee wee pads, which Riley does not, and doesn't make for a very clean environment. Not a deal breaker. She was not great about keeping in touch, but she did send us a pic of Riley in the park. My wife and I had plans during the evening, but decided that we could pick Riley up that night. I texted Devon about this and she responded that would be fine, but to come by around 11p because she was 'seeing a show' and wouldn't be back until then. This def had NOT BEEN DISCUSSED. At 11p, we arrived to pick Riley up. Devon wasn't there, but her 'aunt' was. SHE LEFT OUR DOG FOR 3 HRS WITH A COMPLETE STRANGER TO US. She informed us when she got back that her phone was on 'airplane mode,' which made her unreachable in the event of an emergency. After an awkward encounter, I checked the food I had given her for Riley's dinner and SHE HADN'T FED IT TO HIM. Also, Riley was in DIRE NEED OF A WALK as he barely made it down the block. To top it off, Riley hasn't been feeling well the past couple of days. But, the next day, Devon was happy enough to post an Insta of our dog without our permission. #AWKWARD
