Hi my name is Dera and I'm originally from Hawaii. I've have a zoology degree and have spent my life caring for animals! I am currently a stay and home mom and am looking to earn a little extra income on the side. Here's a little more info about my experience: I've had dogs in my home all my life and have house/pet sat for friends and colleagues for the last 25 years. Before moving to Hawaii my beloved dog of 16 years passed away. While in Hawaii I worked as a dolphin trainer for 12 years and was responsible for the daily care of seven wonderful animals. This included daily food preparation, cleaning of food prep areas and enclosures, observing daily behavior for signs of illness, feeding, training of husbandry behaviors, treatment of abrasions or other medical issues, administering daily vitamins and medications, providing physical exercise and stimulating enrichment activities. Just before moving to Oregon I worked for National Marine Fisheries Service rescuing and rehabilitating stranded marine mammals such as dolphins, whales and seals. I have spent my life providing exemplary care for these animals and hope to offer you the same for your beloved furry friend! Some other details: - I have two kids (3 and 1 yo) so we welcome any pets that are kid friendly and would thrive in a family home. I am a stay at home mom so your dog would have plenty of opportunities for play and walks. - We also live right across the street from a big park! - I can accommodate any special dietary needs (i.e. cooking fresh foods).
