I have lived with dogs ever since I can remember. After our first dog Sasha passed away, our family decided to get a dog from the local Animal Rescue League. I remember begging my mom to go visit this one Golden Chow mix that caught my eye, I knew immediately that she was my dog. After visiting her in person, we could see that she had serious behavioral issues because she had been abandoned. For this reason we could not take here home immediately. The director said if we were willing to come and visit and work with her at least five times a week we could have her after one month. We showed up every day and learned how to train her properly. The first day home I couldn’t wait to take her for her first walk on her new leash. By this point she listened pretty well but saw a saw a bird and took off down the street….. I didn’t let go of the leash and was dragged for the next block. I came back home all scraped up but was so proud of myself for not letting go of the leash!!! Side note: The training paid off and she quickly became a very loving and obedient dog. As you can see my dedication includes scraped knees.
