About Deanna

5 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Deanna's Canine Care offers everything you look for when leaving your precious pup in someone else's care. I along with my boyfriend, Andrew, provide the best care possible to every pet we watch and treat them each like our own fur-babies.

I have been working with dogs for 6 years now in a numerous settings. I have worked with a dog boarding and daycare facility, apprenticed with a dog trainer, worked with one of the most popular dog walking companies in town, handled professional bedbug detection K9s, and now work at the area's best all-natural pet store. My passion is with dogs and as such, I have taken great joy in earning my living by working with them.

Given my experience in so many dog-related fields, I am confident when handling essentially any type of dog. I have experience in working with aggression (both towards dogs and humans), leash-pulling, poor manners, and typical puppy antics to name a few. If there is a problem you would like to address during my time with your dog, I would love to work with them on it!

My home is in a wonderful neighborhood and is equipped with a beautiful sunroom, cool hardwood floors and tile for those toasty summer days, and a beautiful backyard with a kiddie pool, plenty of grass, trees that give off lots of shade, and, of course, a secure fence. Three Lakes Park is a short walk away and Alice, Walker, and I thoroughly enjoy our trips there and I'm sure your pooch will too! If your dog would benefit from a shorter, less rigorous walk, there are plenty of residential roads we can walk on as well. In addition, Bryan Park is a short drive away and on warm days we love to go out there and splash around in the creek. If your dog loves water (or you'd like to see how they like it) a trip to that park would be just the thing!

A typical day in my home is fairly structured and begins around 7:30 am. I take my dogs for a walk through Three Lakes Park first thing in the morning right after breakfast. After that, they enjoy some time out in the backyard to run off leash then come in for some water and a break. Once I leave for work (usually around 9:30), my boyfriend, Andrew, takes over. He works from home so aside from a couple errands throughout the day, he is at home to let the dogs out whenever they need to go. He is also a great tennis-ball or frisbee thrower so if your dog is the fetching type, they will get their work out in! I am usually back home around 7 and I take the dogs on a shorter walk around my block before dinner. When bedtime rolls around, your pup will be taken care of in accordance to your preferences.

Thank you so much for considering Deanna's Canine Care for your pet sitting or dog training needs. I'd like to mention that I have no restrictions on breed or size, only that the dogs staying in my home be dog-friendly and that they do not chase my cats. Please do not hesitate to message me with any questions!

I reached out to Deanna this past weekend, looking for someone to watch our dog while we are away over Thanksgiving. She was quick to respond and we were able to set up a meet-n-greet for the following day. Deanna seemed very comfortable and knowledgeable about dogs in general and was not concerned about some the health and anxiety issues that accompany our pup. She was kind enough to allow us to schedule a trial run day care day, which went very well. Our dog got along great with her 2 resident pups, she sent us an update and pictures during the day, and Toby came home very happy and tired that evening. Our concerns have been eased about boarding our dog with someone new over Thanksgiving.
Overall I believe Deanna and her boyfriend did a great job caring for Kota. I received a picture or video update almost each day and she looked happy in each one! I was a little worried about all the other animals in the house as they have 2 dogs and 2 cats but Kota appeared to adjust very well and had fun with everyone! Upon picking Kota up, she looked as if she had been groomed as her coat looked shiny and combed and her paws felt smooth (although there was no communication that this was done-- so maybe just my imagination?). Kota did have diarrhea for the next 2 days after picking her up but her demeanor was still happy.
Captain loved staying with Deanna. He played tug-of-war with her puppy and enjoyed the experience of staying in her home MUCH more than previous experiences in a boarding kennel. Many thanks for taking sych good care of him!
