I started working at a dog daycare/hotel in 2008 and quickly realized that I felt the most at home in a world full of dogs. I decided to go to school to become a licensed veterinary technician and have been a full time employee at a veterinary hospital since 2010 (license acquired in 2012). I walk two dogs every weekday on my lunch break and I love seeing their sweet faces in the middle of a busy work day!
I love getting outside and exploring on foot, especially if I have some dogs to keep me company! Dogs in my care can enjoy some nice hikes, walks, or jogs (about 3 miles, 10 min/mile pace is about my average), or we can stay home and play fetch in the backyard. Then, at the end of the day, I am a big advocate of a good snuggle on the couch.
I do work full time, so my partner would be assisting in caring for the dogs in our home. He loves playing fetch and cuddling, and is home four days out of the week. We have two dogs together and have really enjoyed watching our girls interact with new dogs in our home. We have so much love to give to any and all dogs and are both very excited to meet more!
I am also open to staying in your home if your dogs would be most comfortable there.
Overall, I am all for whatever is best for your pet(s). I want to know their routine and their quirks and I want to make sure that their care is as personalized as possible, with many positive attributes of my own added in.
Because of my vet tech experience, I would also be happy to work with special needs cases - recuperating from surgery, medications, etc - as well as some basic grooming - baths, ear cleaning, nail trims, anal gland expression, etc.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
