My name is Danielle, I recently graduated from SFU and am working in a neighbourhood bar while looking for a job in my field. I absolutely love animals and I have a very flexible schedule so I'm hoping to fill my time with some doggy company! I currently live in the Fraserview area of Vancouver and wish I could have a dog but am unable to make the full-time commitment.
I have experience caring for my Shih Tzu Benji with my family when I lived in Ontario. Benji was rescued from a puppy mill and was very nervous around people and other animals, but over the years with constant love and reassurance she became much more confident and comfortable!
I have taken care of my friend's Basset Hound Gertie for a number of days (and nights) and absolutely love having her around (see photos of Gertie in my apartment). Additionally I have cared for my friend's two cats in my apartment multiple times which has helped further develop my understanding of the needs of animals in a new environment. I also help another friend with her Puggle Zoey on occasion (see Zoey acting as a monorail on the top of my couch and on a walk with Gertie!).
I prefer smaller dogs because that's what I'm most used to, but I'm open to calm bigger dogs with great personalities! I have a nice big apartment for doggies to roam in and welcome them on the couch and in my bed. I live alone and my apartment is very quiet, so I do need a dog that doesn't bark very often and is quiet when left alone. I usually work night shifts so I'm often completely free in the day and can spend lots of time doting on your furry friend. I look forward to lots of walks, visits to dog parks and couch cuddles!
