About Dakota

13 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi! My name is Dakota and I've been around dogs all of my life. One of my earliest memories is walking the family Rottweiler on my own when I was just a tot. Since then, I have taken care of dogs that have had surgery, needed medication, that have anxiety and those that need a gentle, welcoming hand due to a rocky past. I have also cared for dogs with sensitive stomach, arthritis, and hip dysplasia.

My current apartment is on a hill so I'm leaving it up to the discretion of the owner whether or not their fur-baby can handle the area. Having a pup of my own, Meet-and-Greets are required to make sure that all parties involved are comfortable and feel safe. Living within the city-limits of a small town makes walks easy and a daily activity. If uncomfortable with your family member on the road, there is also a very lovely nature path about a mile from the apartment. The only requirement is that your dog is comfortable with getting in and out of cars.

My current job has me working odd hours, but my fiance and I are always home mid-afternoon for some play time, walks, and of course potty breaks. On the weekends we are home all day aside from maybe a small trip to the grocery store.

My goal is to give pet-parents piece of mind while their loved ones are happy and safe , being loved as if they were my own.

I have known Dakota for 6 years. I have always known Dakota to be reliable, honest, and conscientious. She has taken spectacular care of my boxer, Frank, while I travel across country. Dakota notifies me daily updates on how Frank is doing. Based on my observations Dakota is comfortable interacting with both small and large dogs. I have the utmost confidence that Dakota has the capability to control Frank and keep him calm. I would definitely recommend Dakota for pet sitting service.

Dakota has been raised with and cared for all manner of animals from dogs and cats to chickens and cows. Her compassion for animals really rose to the surface when she helped foster very young kittens, getting up in the middle of the night to feed and diaper the kittens. She recently adopted her own dog, a 5 year-old female rescued by our local SPCA from a puppy mill. She continues to demonstrate patience and kindness as the temperament and idiosyncrasies of her new family member emerges.
