I am a dog owner and love all breeds of dogs. If I could I would definitely own more dogs, but since that is not possible I have enjoyed boarding dogs in my home where I can enjoy many different breeds. My first dog as a child was a Siberian Husky (I talked my parents into that breed as I was under the impression that they were hypo-allergenic. I was never able to have more than a rabbit and a hamster as my sister was allergic to dogs, so when she left for college I seized the opportunity to finally get a dog!) He was a real challenge as I learned that Huskies love to wander--and pull!!! By the way, no dog IS hypo-allergenic! After I was married and had children we bought our first family dog which was a Samoyed! I love that Sammy smile! Later on we went on to adopt a wonderful yellow Lab, and after he passed went on to own a Westie. He loved
other dogs, so we got him another Westie named Lily, who we still have. We also
have a dachshund named Daisy who we adopted from a friend and a black Lab for a granddaughter who loves to play fetch! Abby always ramps up the fun factor! My daughter has always adopted senior dogs who have been rescued and are in need of the love they deserve.
Given my love of dogs, when my children left the nest I went on to dog grooming school and have worked as a certified dog groomer. I. have gone to many dog-care seminars and taken classes in first aid. I love spending time with dogs and your dog will never be left alone or put outside without my supervision. I will give them all the love and attention that I give to my own dogs. They will receive an abundance of play and cuddle time! Assuring your dog's safety and happiness is always my priority! I have a large yard for your dog to run around, completely fenced. During their stay they will enjoy lots of outdoor time With Me-- weather permitting! If your dog is more of a couch potato, they will enjoy lots of time to laze around on or off the couch--YOUR choice! I will always follow your instructions so they don't go home with habits you'd rather be discouraged. You can be assured that when you pick your dog up their tails will be wagging as much as they will be when you drop them off!
In order to make sure everyone is in a safe environment, I will need to have a
copy of your dog's vaccinations. Also, I would like dogs to have the canine flu shot. I also will need to know how your dog interacts with others--both people and other dogs! Your honesty will help me keep everyone safe and happy!
Feel free to bring anything that your dog requires to help him feel at home. Beds,
Bowls, even their own crate (I can also provide a crate if your dog enjoys
one but I will NEVER crate your dog unless you do so at home and request that I crate them). Please bring their food as keeping dogs on their usual diet is important. I will give any treat you bring per your instructions. I do not believe in overfeeding of treats as it spoils the dog's appetite and can lead to stomach discomfort! I want your dog to feel well when they go back home!
Your dog is my number one priority! I love what I do! Unlike a regular boarding
facility, I do not charge extra for services such as texts, giving medications, extra playtime (I will play with your dog and walk them all day long!), and am very lenient on pick up and drop off times. Your dog will have the run of my house and be part of the family!
I hope you have gotten a good feel for the kind of experience your dog will have,
but if you have any questions you can contact me or set up a meet and greet! I
look forward to meeting you and your dog!
