I'm Cristienne, a busy professional working in the Financial District. I LOVE dogs, but can't commit to one right now due to my travel schedule. That said, I frequently "sit" for friends and family and will often either stay at their home, or have the "little one" hang out at my place.
Since the age of about 13 had two dogs - a Yorkie (Zoe) and a Havanese (Ziggy). Zoe was a rescue, whereas we were on a 2 year wait list for Ziggy. Both passed away in their old age 14 and 13, respectively. Since then, I've regularly taken care of my parents Shitzu (Milo) and my godchildren's Beagle/Foxhound (Coco, she's pictured in my profile).
Eventually want to get another dog(s), but am waiting until things slow down a bit with travel. It just wouldn't be fair to the dogs otherwise.
Why am I on DogVacay? In short, I miss having dogs in my life on a regular basis. This seems the perfect way to accommodate my love for dogs with my schedule. On the plus side, I can provide a fun and caring environment for your pup when you need to be out of town. It's a win win in my books.
The space: I own/live in a house on my own. There are separate units in the house. I'm on the main floor with exclusive access to the back garden, which is fully fenced in. The back has a small vegetable garden, a shed, and is fully tiled (stone slabs). I have a doggie door that is suitable for smaller dogs (think 15lbs), which would be great if I'm out of the house. Most of the indoor living space is tiled, with area rugs. I'm happy to roll them up if you're worried about accidents.
My request is that you're honest about your pup - i.e. training, temperament, shedding, personality, neediness etc... I'd prefer to meet up in advance of a booking, to make sure both you/your pup and I are on the same page. Maybe a play date at a nearby park?
