About Jaclynn

13 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
PLEASE NOTE: If you are seeking dog walking or home visits on any of the days marked "unavailable"please send a request anyway. Unavailable dates are booked for in-home overnight pet sittings (because I can't be in two homes at the same time).

I have been called an animal whisperer a few different times. No, I can't communicate with animals :-) However, I do great with pets that are known for being shy, troubled or a handful. I have experience with all types of breeds; from Chihuahuas to Mastiffs. Size does not intimidate me.

As one of my services, I am able to take your pup on a trip to the dog park for some play time. If you'd like for your dog to spend time at the dog park instead of a walk would be at the 60 minute walk quote price.

Why I love dog walking and pet sitting?
I have been a dog lover all of my life. I was raised with large breeds such as Mastiffs (English and French) and Newfoundlands. Once I became an adult, I adopted a tiny chihuahua (who passed away summer of 2014) and have since adopted another one. I spend my free time walking dogs and volunteering at a local animal shelter. Before I started dog walking and pet sitting professionally I would pet/house sit for friends and family. I have experience with all type of animals from small rodents (hamsters, rats and guinea pigs), lizards, birds, cats and many different breeds of dogs. I have also had the chance to work in a dog grooming salon where I learned grooming skills I now offer to you as part of my services.

My experience administering medication:
I am comfortable giving oral medications. I cannot give IV meds, but I do know how to give fluids via needle under the skin.

Time I'll spend with your dog:
Monday-Friday for an hour (with travel) I have prior obligations to a set of pups I have been working with for a year consistantly. Aside from running short trips to get food or things of that nature, 4 hours alone is the most they'll be alone.

Extra house-sitting services:
As apart of my services, I do basic cleaning as I stay there. I can take trash to the curb for pickup, get your mail, water plants, and any other basic household chore.

***My home and I are both smoke and drug free*** .

The fur Mom of two wonderful dogs I have been walking before I joined dogvacay does not have an account but left me this great testimonial.
"Jaclynn has been dog-walking and dog-sitting for me for the better part of a year. My dogs were almost immediately comfortable with her, as was I. Even my timid little guy took to her very quickly, which is amazing because he's incredibly lovable, but usually so tentative with anyone new. On top of everything else my rather plus-sized bichon-mix has lost six pounds by (altering her diet and) getting regular walks during the week. Jaclynn is dependable and kind."- Maridith R. (03/2015).

Everything seems to go smoothly with Jaclynn when we need her to watch our dogs. She is understanding and always send pics and videos for us to see when we are away. Thank You Jaclynn.
Really lovely couple, Jaclynn and Andrew were very accommodating picking up and dropping off Minnie( we found it very hard to find find a host that was willing to do the pick up and drop off) also Andrew was wonderful offering to look after her whilst Jaclynn was away. Minnie was very comfortable going with them and almost went home with them at the drop off. My trip was much better knowing Minnie was with them. Minnie was happy and worn out after. Would book with them again.

Jaclynn was awesome! She stayed in our home with our two dogs - a great dane and a pit mix who both have their own special needs - for the weekend. We received frequent picture updates from her showing us that both our pups were happily enjoying their time with her. Jaclynn was also extremely patient with our stubborn great dane. She was an excellent house guest too. We felt totally comfortable with her, and knew that our dogs were in good hands. We are already working to set up the next stay with Jaclynn!

Jaclynn and our doggies get along great. She stays on top of everything, including giving Shilo a bath when she she got a little dirty. She sends frequent cute photos, and even cleaned house before she left. Doesn't get any better! Karen
Our experience with Jaclynn was awesome from start (1st meet and greet) through coming home today to find two very happy, content doggies! Two things stand out: Jaclynn had to stay in close touch re: a new health issue for one dog. She followed through with a vet visit, including, hours in rush hour traffic, and beginning new medication regimen. Secondly, the other pup is extremely shy, and Jaclynn had him begging for belly rubs within a few days! A major first!

We are so pleased she will be staying with the pups again in 2 weeks, and are going to quickly get her booked for a trip in October.....she is going to be in high demand, when others find out how great she is!

This was Jaclynn's second job for us and she did a great job once again! This time, she stayed at our house while pet sitting for a week. She cleaned the house before we arrived -washing the sheets and towels, too. Our dog seemed to have fun - as the videos and photos showed she was quite comfortable with her new friend, Jaclynn. We highly recommend Jacklynn to anyone needing a caring, responsible sitter or walker.

Jaclynn did a wonderful job taking care of our dog, Sandi (a yellow lab). We felt comfortable with Jaclynn before we left on vacation, knowing that Sandi would be in good hands. Jaclynn even had to make a couple of unexpected trips to the vet to pick up meds in order to treat Sandi for some minor health issues. Jaclynn sent us photos while we were away, as well as keeping us up to date on daily activities. Even our neighbors remarked on how it seemed Sandi was quite content and well taken care of. Sandi got nice long walks everyday. Upon our return, we came back to a nice clean house. Jaclynn had vacuumed, washed bath towels and bed sheets, cleaned the kitchen, and put everything back where it belonged. We would definitely recommend Jaclynn for dog-sitting.

Jaclynn was great with our shy and reluctant Dachsund! Her profile said some call her the Dog Whisperer and our experience confirmed that title. She kept us updated and was very responsible and conscientious about her care. Our dog was in good hands!
We have never hired a dog walker before, and we were nervous about doing so. We weren't sure how our (somewhat) nervous dog (Shadow) would do with a stranger taking her for walks! When we had a meet and greet with Jaclynn, she asked specific questions about Shadow's needs and she was very interactive with Shadow without being pushy towards her. Shadow warmed up to her very quickly. It is obvious that Jaclynn has experience with dogs and she understands dog behavior.
Jaclynn sent us daily photos and texted us as needed. Before we hired her and after we hired her, she responded extremely quickly to emails and texts. She was always kind and courteous in all forms of communication - in person, email, and texts.
We will defintely hire Jaclynn again, whenever we need a dog walker or sitter!
