Loving, Individual Care, for One or Two Dog Guests at a Time
We're an experienced, animal-friendly family (Husband, child and Me), in Poolesville, MD. We've taken care of dogs and cats most of our lives. Our family is now offering more individualized, personal attention to only one or (occasionally) two dog Guests at a time.
We have a large, fenced back yard, do 1 or 2 walks every day and we'd treat your dog as one of the family. Our dog Jack, is friendly with other dogs (and nice to cats, too).
We'd love to have your dog (or pair) come stay at our house while you're on vacation or away on a business trip. It could be his/her home-away-from-home.
My husband (always) and I (frequently) TeleWork, so we're home most of the time.
We strive to make all our Doggy Guests feel comfortable, happy, and part of the family. “Pet Parents” get smart phone texts or computer e-mails, regularly. The phone texts and e-mails have photos and short videos.
If FIDO needs medicine, I’m experienced in that. Puppies accepted, if they're housebroken. We can pick up and return FIDO to your home, if requested. We also do bathing and grooming, and regular walks for dogs, w/o boarding.
Because of high demand, we have Holiday rates of $36/day for Boarding and $72/day for Travel Sitting. Holiday rates apply for Stays around Thanksgiving (November 21st to 26th), XMass/New Year (December 19th to January 1st), Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.
Offered: Traveling Pet Sitting (where I can do house visits or stay at your home). Shy pets, multiple pets or animals who don’t travel well, can be cared for using this method.
I’ve taken care of several types of animals (dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, horses, etc.) before, and enjoy it. Small household tasks (bringing in newspaper and mail, watering plants, etc.), can be arranged, with this service.
Note: I love cats and offer cat sitting as well as dog sitting! I'm happy to stay at your house or visit your kitty while you're away.
About our home:
We live in a single family house in Poolesville, MD, in a quiet neighborhood, at the end of a cul-de-sac. Our residential neighborhood is a family friendly, safe community with sidewalks and fitness trails.
We have a front yard, and a large, newly fenced back yard. (The dogs LOVE it!) The dogs are supervised in the fenced back yard. The fence itself is 4-feet high, with wire mesh on the inside of the post and rail design.
We’re careful to leash dogs inside the house, before we take them out for walks in the neighborhood. I walk my dog every day and would love to take any dog in my care for walks and have fun with them.
Why I love dog sitting
I’ve been a dog lover all my life. I like cats, horses and other animals, too.
Meet my pets
Jack, the Host dog, is a beloved family pet. He's friendly, yet not too friendly, with shy dogs. (Jack gives shy dogs their 'space', and meets them as slowly as they want.) He's also well behaved around people and well trained. Jack is a great Host Dog.
We have an outside cat called Boots. (She always stays outside.) She's O.K. with dogs, yet knows to run and hide if a dog gets too rowdy.
About my yard
We have a front yard, and a large, newly fenced back yard. (The dogs LOVE it!) The dogs are supervised in the fenced back yard. The fence itself is 4-feet high and has wire mesh on the inside of the post and rail design.
My experience administering medication
Yes, I’ve given all kinds of medicine (pills, ointments, injections) to my dogs and cats.
We've had dogs and cats for decades and so we're experienced in caring for them. We have a smart phone to easily communicate with you and we'll send photos about how your dog (or cat) is doing. We have two reliable cars, for Traveling Pet Sitting. We know how to administer medicine. We're hard working, responsible and love animals.
