About Rani

15 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Rainy days won't stop me!

I'm ready today to come to your house to watch your dog(s)! This may be an option you haven't considered yet. Many times clients prefer that, especially if their dog is elderly, gets nervous, or has special needs. I've done pet sitting at many clients homes, and can provide references. I'm happy to address any other concerns or questions you have about in-home pet sitting. SoCal is the perfect area for long walks, hikes, beach trips, or a visit to the dog park. Let's get started!

I love all animals, having received my BS in Wildlife Biology, and have worked with Wildlife Rehabilitation centers. I've done dog bathing in the past, as well, at a salon for several years. After being around dogs for so long I have really gotten to know breed temperaments and know how to treat your dog just right. I have worked with both elderly and disabled pets, and have no issues with administering medication.

And I LOVE BIG DOGS in case that has been an issue for you!

NOTE: I love cats and have one of my own in addition to my dog! I offer cat sitting as well as dog sitting! I'm happy to stay at your house or visit your kitty while you're away.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Rani did a great job on short notice. We were very satisfied and will definitely use her again. Thanks!
Rani was outstanding! She responded very quickly to all of my correspondence. Responsible and dependable and took such great care of my dog, even giving him an hour long brushing before I arrived home. I highly recommend Rani.
Rani took such good care of our two pups! They were in their own home, she adapted to their schedule, and everyone was super happy. Absolutely love her, and we are looking forward to our next Dog Vacay!
I cannot say enough what a giant relief it was to leave our dogs in such good hands while we were away. Rani stayed at my home during the DogVacay, which worked out extremely well.

I highly recommend Rani for anyone looking for a pet and housesitter while you are away.
We were in a pinch, as we were going away for a 4-day thanksgiving weekend, and a friend who was going to stay at our house and watch our three dogs bailed out at the last minute. We got on dogvacay and found Rani. We sent her a message and got an immediate response, a meet and greet was arranged, and the next day Rani was at our house, for a 4 day stay.

Having only just met Rani, our first reaction could have easily been one of nervousness, as we were now entrusting our home and our dogs to someone we only had just met.

But Rani gave us immediate peace of mind, and clearly showed that she has a way with dogs. She kept us updated our entire time away and was very attentive to both our dogs and our home.

We highly recommend her, especially if you are like us, and prefer to have a pet sitter stay at your home (so that the dogs can be in their own familiar environment). She was a lifesaver for us, and allowed us to enjoy our weekend, worry free.

We are glad we found her, and will surely use her again!
As dog lovers, imagine how scared it is to leave your "babies" in the hands of a total stranger. Rani not only took care of Vinny and Nelly as if they were hers, but impressed our dog family at the doggie park, The reviews for her (and now you) were over the top. We will use her again and again and again.

Rani was a great caretaker for our big black lab over the Thanksgiving holiday. She was very easy to communicate with and was above and beyond in terms of accommodating our travel schedule - even letting us pick him up early on Thanksgiving afternoon. She seems to have a great rapport with all dogs, and ours seemed very happy to spend his time there and was even a bit mopey when he settled back home. I would highly recommend her and would definitely use her again to take care of our dog.
My husband and I were very happy with our experience boarding our big mutt, Bailey, with Rani while we were out of state. It's always difficult for me to leave our pups behind, but after doing a meet-n-greet, I felt very comfortable having Rani watch her while we couldn't be there. She was very receptive to any information we gave her about Bailey's personality, and even dressed her up in a little silly Halloween costume and sent us some pics! My only sidenote would be that for our dog, apartment boarding like where Rani lives isn't the best option, as she always has refused to do her "potty business" on a leash, instead only doing it in a backyard, and thus has a problem with accidents in the apartment. However, Rani handled this weird quirk of Baileys very well and was patient and loving to her anyways, letting us know all the good ways she behaved when we picked her up. If we could get this leash potty problem sorted out for her, I would not hesitate leaving our dog with Rani another time!
Rani did a great job. I was very nervous, being the first time I was leaving my dog with anyone, but after meeting Rani, I was put at ease, and felt very relaxed during the duration of my trip. She was responsive with updates during my trip, and when I came home, my puppy was in great spirits and in great shape. I highly recommend considering Rani to watch you doggy.
Rani was absolutely wonderful with our two Kids. We had decided that we just didn't want to board them anymore, but it isn't easy to find people who are comfortable enough with big dogs and knowledgeable about their breed personality differences to take care of them. I also have to feel that the people who I entrust my dogs with understand & like them, and that it isn't just a "job" to them. Although she is pretty tiny herself, Rani loves big dogs and transitioned with ours beautifully. She loves animals, period. We got together twice before we left them with her, and everything went very well. Rani was not concerned about shedding, about sloppy drips of drinking water on her floor, or even when Zeus snuck up and was sleeping on her newly made clean bed ( a definite "no no" at Home). She clearly has a "feel" for differences in dogs, and they know it. Being able to stay with Rani was so much better than leaving them at a regular boarding facility.

FYI -- Zeus (10 yrs) is half Pyrenee with Lab & Border Collie on his mom's side, but has a very definite Pyr temperment; i.e., is very defense oriented towards other larger animals & some people - altho it is mostly in relation to his home or neighborhood, as Prys are territorial. While he is otherwise very gentle, mild mannered & low energy, you need to be observant and see who's coming towards you and know how to handle him if you have him out walking. Translation - you do not have "la dee da" walks with Zeus.

Lilly is our sweet Dobie girl, but she can be intimidating just because she's big and a Dobie. Very loving and gentle, but has to know you first. After that, she's valcro herself to your leg. She is a Love. Being a Dobie, she also frets when her setting changes and needs some reassurance. Rani was very gentle & loving with her and that made Lilly feel comfortable and happy.

For whatever reason, good cosmos, the good Lord who loves animals, or totally good luck, Rani was terrific, and we definitely plan to call on her again when we need to leave town and cannot take our Kids.

Just to show we are being totally honest in our assessment, my husband and I want to note that Rani is new to town and does not currently have a car. This could be a problem if there had been an emergency. However, we talked about that before we left, and we felt we had that covered.

Bottomline: Rani is a dog lovers' dog keeper. If you have to leave you much loved dog(s) with someone, Rani will love them and take very good care of them. They will be happy dogs - as happy as they can be without you. :-)
