My husband and I began fostering for a local pit bull rescue 7 years ago and started sitting professionally through DogVacay in 2014. We love having dogs in our lives and every new guest feels like a new friend, for us and for the mutts. We prefer bigger dogs in the house (over 20 lbs), since tiny ones can slip through the wrought-iron fence in the front yard. My house is quiet and comfortable, and the back yard is safe and shady, with a secure 5-foot fence all around.
If your pooch wants to chill with us while you're away, we have a couch to lounge on and big comfy dog beds in every room. I do work but am home at least every 4 hours for potty-breaks, and then in the evenings everyone gets plenty of time to play (always supervised) and explore the grounds. Your dog must at least be tolerant of canine companionship -- my fur-family loves to play so good doggy social skills are a big plus!
I can take up to 3 of your dogs at a time depending on availability. Sorry, no unneutered males or females in heat.
I'll ask that you provide your own food so your dog doesn't get a tummy ache, and if he has a special bed or crate he prefers to sleep in, you can bring that too.
Please let me know if he has a recent history of problem chewing or potty accidents so that proper accommodations can be made.
A NOTE ABOUT MEET-AND-GREETS:
All dogs have their own unique personalities -- while many thrive with lots of happy resident pups to interact with, others may find it a bit stressful. It's helpful to get a feel for your dog's personality before booking, so I'll encourage you to set up a time to bring them by for a short 10-minute play-date. This will give us a good idea of your pup's comfort level here with my pups. If we mutually decide your dog might be more comfortable elsewhere, I may recommend another option like finding a lower-energy household, or a sitter on DogVacay who can care for your pet in your own home while you're away.
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to meeting you and your fur-kids!
