About Barbara

35 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
DISCOUNTS for return and multiple guests!

We'll care for your pup as if he or she were our own.
Play time/free time in our fenced-in half-acre several times a day.
Resident puppy playmates always on hand.
Cuddles, healthy snacks (if allowed), and general spoiling available upon request.
I spent several years as a volunteer at the Humane Society of Cobb County.
We have fostered more than forty dogs (all of which have now been adopted!)

I work from home and can be physically available 100% of the time until your pet is comfortable enough to be on his own for an hour or two at a time (to allow me to run errands).
Our home is pet-proofed so your dog can relax on a covered chair or one of many dog beds available.
I have cared for many elderly or ailing pets and can give meds, if necessary.
In addition, we are located two miles from Cobb Emergency Vet Clinic.

PLEASE NOTE: we call our place 'Clowder House' due to the several kitties who also reside here. They keep to themselves when we have visitors, but if your dog is cat-aggressive, we are not be your best match.

IN ADDITION: we now have a young lab/boxer mix puppy. Your pet must be good with other dogs. Our puppy loves making friends and is very well socialized. She is large and very high energy. We're willing to crate her a few hours a day to give your dog some time to adjust to her. She's still a puppy. She will chill. Eventually. We imagine. :)

AND FINALLY: I will happily take on old friends at virtually no notice. We do need a meet and greet at our home for all potential new guests.

References from my own vet (TVC) and the Humane Society of Cobb County will be gladly given.

We can't thank Barbara enough, she was so inviting and pleasant to deal with from the first meet and greet we felt happy that our dogs would be taken care of and looked after.
Rey has a lot of energy and is so full on (as an 8 month old puppy is generally) and Barbara had no issues with her and allowed her to play and be herself which I am sure helped her to settle in and have a good stay.
Barbara also looked after Rey on her first ever 4th July and made sure the fireworks and loud noised were not too distressing and terrifying.
Overall Lucy and Rey had a great time and I would recommend Barbara to look after our dogs any time in the future

Our beagle Molly had a great time with Barbara and Dwight, and all their furry kids. Their home is very welcoming and the great yard includes a pond to explore. Molly tells me she wants to stay with Barbara again some time!
Five paws up! We had never boarded or left our nine year old rescue Boxer with anyone before this as he has separation anxiety and is part of the family. We had to travel to attend a funeral and had to find a place. Barbara and her husband were great and our dog had a good time, which we could help from the photos while he was there. We will definitely use her again if the need arises as we know our dog will be happy, well taken care of and he knows them, their house and nice fenced backyard.
This was my first time using Barbara and it was great. Rex had a great time and Barbara even patched Rex's bed that had a hole. Thanks again Barbara!!!!
Our dog, Maggie stayed with Barbara for 5 nights and had a great time. She sent us pictures and updated us daily. When we picked Maggie up she was happy and exhausted from playing with Barbara's 2 adorable dogs. I am so happy to have found a loving, reliable sitter who can watch our sweet Maggie when we travel. I highly recommend Barbara!
Once again my Yorkie Pearl had a pleasant stay with Barbara and Dwight
Barbara is very caring! Felt that my dog was well cared for and had a great time with her.
My dog has now had a number of stays at Clowder House. During the time of this last one, I knew I was going to be unreachable by either phone or e-mail. You know you can completely trust someone when you leave your "baby" in her care knowing she can't contact you while you're away. I had absolutely no doubt about the quality of care my pet would receive, and that Barbara would deal with any issues that might arise ... and do what was best for my dog no matter what. Barbara is not only capable, she's caring and just plain wonderful!!
My sweet dog had another wonderful stay, full of love and care! Barbara is great about communicating with pictures, events of my pet's day, and any questions that arise. I always know "my baby" is in good hands with Barbara and her husband Dwight.
Barbara is fabulous! Barbara gives my "Princess Sweetness" tons of love. She has such a caring heart for animals. I couldn't ask for better care for my dog when I'm away. I'll definitely be asking Barbara to care for my dog every time I need someone.
This was the second visit for Yogi and BooBoo and they love Barbara. She treats them so special. She takes extra care with BooBoo to get him to eat (he is very shy). They love her big back yard and enjoyed time with the her two very cute dogs and cats. I would highly recommend her.
Barbara was a great fit for Jimmy! She seemed knowledgeable and understanding of my dogs needs. She kept me posted on how he was doing and even kept me updated on his health issues. Would love to use her again!
Barbara was wonderful with my two dogs, Yogi and BooBoo. She provided updates and even sent me pictures. She was very patient with my shy dog and made him feel welcome and went the extra mile on feeding him. I was little nervous since she has cats my dogs have never engaged cats but they were fine and we had no issues. I would highly recommend Barbara.
Fabulous! Barbara is a very caring lady and a wonderful host. She certainly provided a home from home for our 2 dogs and I will recommend her to anyone looking for a loving vacation home for their dog.
As ALWAYS, My pups LOVE staying with Barbara. They think she's the greatest, and they love her dogs, Bertie and Ollie, like brothers. They also love her husband, who takes them outside in the yard while he works, giving them a wonderful playtime with a human friend hanging out with them. They're home now, sleeping soundly, having worn themselves out during the time they were at Barbara's. Whenever I have to go out of town, and in this case have minor surgery, I feel secure and glad to have my "boys" stay with Barbara and her family.
Barbara blended my beagle-spaniel mix right into her family, making my dog happy, relaxed, and right at home. She went above and beyond, cleaning an ear the vet had discovered gunk in the day before and wanted cleaned daily.

Barbara communicated daily with updates and stories of how the visit was going. We will definitely be vacaying with Barbara and her family again! I can't wait to hear what her dogs and mine get up to next time! Will her dogs finally entice mine to join their play? Stay tuned for the next episode of Clowder House Dog Minders....
Great experience and I will definitely ask Barbara to watch my dog again.
The options in Chattanooga were slim, so I decided to look in the Marietta area since I was flying out of the Atlanta airport. I booked just two days before I needed to leave and Barbara was easy to work with on that. Barbara was amazing. Since it was last minute and far from my house, we were unable to do a meet and greet. When I dropped Louis off, though, Barbara let me hang out a while as Louis warmed up to her dogs. Louis LOVED her big backyard and he even waded into her fish pond (I thought he hated water!!). Barbara's two dogs are very sweet. Louis had fun running around and playing and when I left him he wasn't too concerned that I was leaving. Barbara's home is a puppy paradise. Toys, backyard, attention. She was there a good portion of the time since she works from home, so Louis didn't have to be put away in a crate at all. I got a picture and an update everyday I was gone. When I picked him up she filled me in on the weekend. Sounded like Louis had a great time and he slept the whole way home. Thanks, Barbara! We'll be using you again, for sure!!
My Yorkie Pearl had a great time last weekend with Barbara and Dwight. They are very committed to caring for pets. I will be making another reservation with them for Pearl today.
My pups had a grand time with Barbara as always. They're always happy to see her and her dogs, and run and play and be loved, then happy to come home. Barbara's care of my dogs is outstanding, and I have the utmost confidence in her.
Shakti and Shiva are so glad that Barbara has rejoined Dogvacay. They love spending time with her, her dogs, and her husband. As always, they had a wonderful time running and playing in her big backyard. They will be visiting for a day visit soon.
As always, my Shiva and Shakti had a WONDERFUL time with their Barbara and her furry friends. When I dropped them off, they instantly starting running all around the back yard with their buddies, Ollie and Bertie, thinking finally to run over to say HI to Barbara one at a time, then running over to say HI to her husband, too.

I always feel so comfortable leaving the boys with Barbara, because they express their happiness when they arrive and a little bit of regret when it's time to leave. They're always glad to see me, but at the same time, Barbara's is SO MUCH FUN that they also wish they could stay and play some more.

I highly recommend Barbara and The Clowder House to anyone seeking a good trustworthy person with whom to leave their furry family.
Barbara did a great job caring for our Daisy(a mini-goldendoodle). Daisy was not even that excited to see us when we returned to pick her up. She just wanted to stay and play!
I will continue to take Shiva and Shakti to visit Barbara and her pups. They always have such a fabulous time. They were so excited to arrive, immediately saying "hi" to Bertie and Ollie and running all around the fenced back yard, sniffing and laughing and playing, running back to say "hi" to Barbara and running off again with her boys. I very much appreciate Barbara's offering a during-the-day sitting service, because I often need one. As usual, when I picked them up later that afternoon, they were happy to see me and tired from having such a grand time playing.
As I walked up to meet Barbara at her gate, my puppies became more and more excited. They were thrilled to see her again, letting me know how much they enjoyed their previous stay. They immediately hugged and licked her in their little puppy way, and she put them down where they promptly ran off with her Ollie and Bertie to romp in their yard. When I picked them up at the end of their playdate, they were happy to see me, of course, but I could tell they'd, once again, had a marvelous time. When we got home, they instantly fell asleep to recover from their journey through Barbara's back yard. They'd had friends to run with and so many sniffs to catch up on, they'd worn themselves out.

Barbara and her husband are wonderful caregivers to animals. Their dogs and cats obviously love them dearly, and it's easy to see that they're provided the best of inside and outside care. They extend that loving care to their furry visitors.

You may be certain that my "boys" will be visiting Barbara and her "family" again when next I need to be gone for longer than I'd want to leave them at home. I'm so delighted that Barbara is providing "day" care, as well as overnight care now.
I am so VERY grateful that I chose Barbara to care for my puppies and that she was available. When I dropped them off, they instantly ran off in her yard to sniff and sniff. When I picked them up, they were tearing around the yard with her pups, having a grand time. When I called them, they ran up to me, glad to see me, but when I picked them up, I could tell they weren't too sure they wanted to come home, where it's boring, because they didn't have other puppy playmates. They LOVED their time with Barbara, who kept me posted about their well being, and who obviously enjoyed having them. Her facilities are marvelous, and her puppies and elder poodle show how much she appreciates furry people. My puppies loved her husband, too, who was very kind and helpful when it was time for me to load their pop-out crate and bed.

I highly recommend Barbara as a caring, loving, well educated pet sitter, and I know my puppies do too.

Thank you, Barbara, Dwight, Ollie, Bertie, and Maggie (and kitties)!
