About Cynthia

42 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
You provide the pet, I provide the love.
I absolutely adore dogs and suddenly find myself without one. I've had dogs for the last 42 years and have cherished each pet into their golden years. I would like to share that love an adoration with your pet.
I have a home centrally located in Barton Hills. Totally fenced in yard, concrete floors and plenty of AC. Dogs are never left out in the heat.
When you bring your pet to my house it is the equivalent of going to Grandma's house. In my case "Nanny Cindy's". I believe in lots of love, petting, scratching, snuggling and most importantly, walks for lots of sniffing and exercise. My home overlooks the Barton Creek so we have beautiful views and exceptional routes for walking.
Although I board dogs 24/7 my contact hours are 6 am- 7 pm. If you are
requesting info or trying to make a reservation during the night I will respond early the next morning. My goal is to be a pet sitter that you can always depend on. If you have an extended vacation you are planning or a family emergency I am is here for you.
Here is my schedule. We get up and have an early morning walk. If your dog is old it may be only to the end of the block. If your dog is young and raring to go I can walk them up to 30-45 minutes depending on heat index. We come back and have breakfast, then I work in my upholstery shop which is attached to the kitchen. My doggy guest usually hang out in the den/ kitchen and enjoy watching me work while they lounge. LOL Since I work from home there is always time for lots of potty breaks and sniffing. When the weather is nice I keep the sliding glass door partially open so dogs can freely roam inside and out. Lunchtime we play in the back yard. Dinner is at 6 with a short walk, then we snuggle to PBS on the couch for an hour or so. Bedtime is where ever they like. I normally ask you to bring their bed to put in the common area just so they have that security. If your special friend would like to sleep in my bed they are most welcome.
I have a 2-4 dogs most weekends so I can give each one of my pet guests the love and attention they deserve. If I am boarding dogs from different homes I may give you a call to confirm that they are dog friendly.
For new guests I prefer for you to drop off your pet early in the day. This allows your "family member/ pet" the opportunity to adjust and learn their way around my home and adjust to their new surroundings. It also allows me to take them for a walk and spend some time with them before bed time.
I'm basically home all the time. When your special friend comes to visit "Nanny Cindy" they will be the center of my universe.

It is such an amazing feeling when you can go on vacation feeling comfortable about where your dog is. Cindy was so sweet and kind and our dog Penny loved her. I received daily updates about how Penny was doing, along with pictures. Cindy walked her and snuggled her and gave her lots of love. She also allowed Penny to make herself at home on her couch and in her bed at night. Penny felt right at home and she loves her Nanny Cindy.

Cynthia was more than accommodating to our puppies and to our time constraint! Our dogs came back happy and sleepy. We were so happy to be able to spend the day out and know our dogs were being taken care of :)
Cynthia was great, kind, caring and loving to my little pup. I would recommend her hands down! Thank you Cynthia!
My 3 dogs were so content in Cynthia's home!!! I enjoyed the numerous updates with photos and even a video that showed how much fun my dogs were having and how comfortable they were. They got lots of attention, the right amount of exercise and play time and she was so compassionate with my 14 year old dachshund. Cynthia asked all the right questions before the stay so that the dogs could maintain the routine they have in my home. I couldn't have had a better experience.

It's very clear to see what with Cynthia she does this because she has a passion around it. Her home is a perfect set up for dogs. She is fast to respond and very easy and nice woman to work with. She was very accommodating to my super last minute request and flexible when I needed her to watch my baby a day longer. I will absolutely be using her in the future!

Cindy was wonderful! She was very caring and obviously loves spending time with dogs. Strudel had a great time being pampered and socialising with other dogs. We will definitely use Cindy again.
I requested the stay after midnite I think and by the time I woke up around 6am the reservation was already accepted. Cynthia was so awesome! She kept me posted on how Dolly was doing. She let her sleep in the bed, fed her chicken, and let her sit on the couch right by her. All things I do on a regular basis. I didn't worry about Dolly not being safe or loved and I couldn't ask for a better experience from beginning to end. Thank you Cynthia from the bottom of my heart!!!

Our two pugs recently spent the weekend with Cindy and we were so happy about the whole experience. First, she allowed us to drop by prior to the stay, just to let the dogs get to know her and the house. Once we then dropped them off for the stay, Cindy was very attentive, loving and caring for both our dogs, and I'm sure they felt right at home. Cindy took care of all their feeding and medicinal requirements, and sent frequent texts and pictures to us which put our mind at ease over the weekend. I'm sure we will reach out to Cindy the next time we need to leave our little loved ones with someone we trust for a few days. Thank you, Cindy!

Cynthia is the best! Highly recommend her services to anyone in need of a sitter.
I was extremely impressed with how well Cynthia took care of my dog Conway this past weekend. I've only left him with friends or family over the past 5 years so I wasn't sure how he would do with someone he had never met. I had no reason to be worried however, since the moment we walked into Cynthia's house Conway felt right at home. Cynthia kept in touch with me over the weekend by sending me photos of Conway and shared all the activities he was partaking in. When I went to pick him up he seemed so content I wasn't sure he would want to leave with me. I will definitely be using Cynthia Y in the future and recommending her to family and friends!

Cynthia is an absolutely fantastic person. She truly cares about all the dogs that are staying with her and treats them like her own.
Jack had a great time at Cynthia's and she was the perfect fit for us. Jack got to hang out with Cynthia all day at her beautiful, peaceful home. I was worry free while traveling because Cynthia has many years of experience taking care of dogs and she definitely has big heart for the four legged ones! We will be back again.

If you must leave your sweet dog while you vacation... Do your best to book nanny Cindy! My shih tzu stayed with her for 10 days. I knew it would be a fantastic week for her by the time I pulled out of her drive at drop off. She welcomed dolly into her arms and carried her around for at first 10 mins while she showed me her place and introduced her to the other doggy guests. Everyone was well behaved and having a great time. Cindy sent sweet texts with pics almost every day. I'm pretty sure dolly was reluctant to leave with ME after the vacation, but I assured her that I will definitely book nanny Cindy the next time we travel and she has to stay in Austin. Thanks Cindy! You're the BEST

We were looking for a great place to board our tiny but fierce 4lb chihuahua, Charlie. Cindy was fantastic with him and provided lots of lap time and compassion for his little dogs ways. She also sent us photos and updates which were great. We are looking forward to Charlie staying with Cindy again this coming week. Thank you Cindy!!

Cynthia was really great with my 14 year old Aussie. She sent pictures and notes and made me feel very comfortable. We already have my dog scheduled for another visit with her.
Our pup, Maizy had a great time with Cindy. We know this because Cindy sent us regular updates including video and photos. We never worried once while we were on vacation as we knew Maizy was in good hands. Plus, it was extra fun for Maizy to stay with Cindy because she made fast friends with some fellow dog boarders and kept busy wrestling and playing! we will definitely be repeat customers.

One word -- SPECTACULAR!! This was our first stay with Cindy and she was truly wonderful! She treated our girl just like her own. The best part was she gave her bed privileges; which is incredibly helpful for my dog because she is so nervous. Of course, there were walks and games of fetch too. Cindy was excellent at daily communication on how she was doing, which I so appreciated, and it made my trip more enjoyable not worrying about her. I already have plans to book another stay.

Cindy is amazing! Pickles loves her and the feeling is mutual. It is so comforting knowing that my sweet pup is getting so loved and taken care of while I'm away. Highly recommend Cindy! I'd give her 10 stars if I could.
My dog Oaklie had such a great time with Cindy! She sent pictures and raved about how much she enjoyed spending time with my pup! We will definitely be back again :)
This was the first time our two babies stayed away from home without us, and WOW! Cindy kept us updated on how they were doing, with texts and pictures several times a day, which we loved! We can tell they were happy and active playing with the other doggies she kept. They've been "pooped" and resting since we got home this evening. It makes us happy that they were comfortable enough with her and the other doggies to have played and exercised so much.

We would definitely recommend Cindy's services, and she's definitely gained future visits from our little kiddos!!

My little Shitzu had a wonderful time ! I was worried he would be sad depressed and get chubbier... He was full of pep and had actually slimmed down after romping with his new buddies
Cindy was awesome! She loved my babies like they were her own while I was away. She sent photos and updates to make sure I was well informed about their activities. I will definitely be using her again!
Cindy is awesome! I think my dog would like to stay with her every day! He had a great vacation and came home smiling. Cindy kept in touch with thoughtful updates and pictures which was fun for us. I will call her again, for sure - he misses her already. Thanks again, Cindy, for taking such good care of our dog.

We love Nanny Cindy!! She took care of my two pups for a couple days– we got pictures and updates every day and the pups looked so happy in all of the pictures. Her house is very nice, pup proof, and has a lovely fenced in backyard. It's clear that she truly cares about the pups and the pups love her for it!

It is a pleasure to recommend Cynthia. My 15 year old puppy is blind and needy. I was very concerned about leaving him. I knew he would need someone very special. Cynthia is that and more! I will definitely use her service the next time I need to leave town!

Cindy Young is an awesome pet sitter! My 10-year old Bess, who is a shy and sensitive dog, was with her for over two weeks. I was so pleased to receive updates and pictures. But the best indicator of great quality of care was when I returned to find Bess calm, happy, and affectionate toward Cindy, with no signs of shyness. I think it helped that we arranged for Bess to have two one-night sleep-overs two months before my trip. I hope Cindy will continue hosting because she's a great match for Bess, and my peace of mind is enormous!

Cindy was so great! She took amazing care of our pup Pickles. This was our first time using Dog Vacay and Cindy -- I will definitely be bringing Pickles back this summer. So thankful to have found Cindy!
Cindy was great. She sent me updates and pictures of my pup every day. She also allowed my pup to extend her stay for another day with only a moments notice, because I wasn't feeling well on the scheduled pick-up date.

Cindy is an animal lover and I would definitely recommend her services.

Our dog just returned from another fabulous stay with Cindy! She is truly the Mary Poppins of pets! Smitty was excited to have a return visit with Cindy, and this time had the added benefit of a couple of other dog friends to play with. He had so much fun that I don't think he wanted to leave! Cindy is the absolute best!!!

Pippa had a great time at her first daycare visit! Cindy made us feel extremely welcome during our meet-n-greet and I knew Pippa would be safe and in good hands while I was away. She kept me updated with photos and was very quick to respond to messages. Pippa is already looking forward to her next visit at Cindylou's Canine Bed & Breakfast!

This was my first time to use DogVacay and I had such a wonderful first experience! I felt so comfortable leaving Reilly with Cynthia. We went for an initial "meet and greet" and I could tell Reilly was 100% comfortable with Cindy as was I, with her, her home and yard. The set up is perfect for dog sitting - her backyard is lush and green and her back door is able to remain open for the dogs to come and go. Cindy sent us pictures and updates that put us at ease and took Reilly for walks - we were VERY pleased!

Super! Cindy gave Fido all the TLC that is PAWSIBLE! We'll definitely recommend her to all our neighbors, friends, and family!!!
Our dog Smitty was in great hands with Cyndi! She treated him like a king, took him on long walks, and provided him lots of love! She updated us frequently on how he was getting along, and sent cute photos and videos of him to help us miss him a bit less. One highlight for him was making friends with the the parrot, Casear. It was a true vacation for Smitty, and he will look forward to his next visit! Cyndi is a gem and any pet would be lucky to have her care for them.

I couldn't be more pleased with the way my dog, Bess, and I were treated at Cindylou's Dog B&B. This date was our first time try-out visit for one night, and as a result I've scheduled two more dates. Cindy is clearly experienced and very comfortable with dogs, and her home and yard provide a lovely and warm environment. Bess had two on-leash walks in the neighborhood, and I received a text update with a picture, which was delightful. Best of all was when I picked her up, Bess was calm and contented and affectionate toward Cindy in a way that told me she had been treated very well. Great job!
