I have a six year old Black Labrador Retriever who is with me 24/7. If you live in West Hollywood, it's likely that you've met George and me walking around the neighborhood. No one knows my name but everywhere we go people greet George by name.
George and I hike in Runyon Canyon a couple of times a week, he's slow, so we take our time. We also socialize and play fetch at the William S. Hart Off-Leash Dog Park, well George doesn't play fetch, but maybe your dog does, George likes to sun at Hart Park. The park is across the street from where I live. If you're nervous about your dog being in a dog park, we can visit early in the mooring or late at night when we can have the park to ourselves.
We also like to explore West Hollywood and visit the neighboring dog boutiques to say hello and maybe get a free treat. George has the free-dog- treat route committed to memory.
I grew up in New Hampshire on 2,000 acres of land. My Dad trained hunting dogs, English Pointers and German Shorthairs. We always had a least five dogs at home. Besides owning dogs, we owned five or six horses, sheep, a lot of cats, a donkey named E. Mortimer Schnerd, rabbits, cows, chickens, roosters, and ducks, so I'm very comfortable with all animals. My first dog was a Dachshund named Ian.
George is super chill and friendly. I rescued him a few years ago when he was about three years old and I've spent quite a bit of time training him to be the perfect dog that he is.
George is ALWAYS with me and as such, your dog will ALWAYS be with us. Your dog will never be left alone in my place, ever.
I have a neighbor who will come over and hang out if I have to run to the grocery store or if I have an emergency. I make a point of getting all of my errands and shopping done before your dog arrives so that I can be with the dogs one hundred percent of the time. When I accept a reservation, I am committing to caring for your dog as my only job for the duration of your dog's stay.
I live and work at home in a very large, 2,000 square foot apartment in a 1928 Historic apartment building in West Hollywood. You are welcome to come and check it out.
There is no yard. If your dog is outside, your dog will be on leash with me, or perhaps at the local off-leash park if that's ok with you. While at the park I have my eye on your dog and mine at all times. I stand over the dogs. If I sense trouble, we're out of there!
I do like to hike in Runyon Canyon to keep in shape, if your dog is up for that, we'll go for hikes, if not, we'll just stick to neighborhood walks. Your dog will always be on a leash when in Runyon Canyon.
I have spent the last thirty years working in the music industry as a Senior A&R Executive at the major record labels and music publishing companies. I adopted George right around the time that I left working at Universal and if I can make a living working with dogs, I plan to do that. George has changed my life in every positive way.
I like to bake and I've been experimenting with Gluten Free Pumpkin dog treats. As a hobby, I take photographs of dogs, you can see some of them here and on the Friends of Hart Dog Park site. I'll be sending daily photo up-dates of your dog while you're away.
