About Joan

Join us in a beautiful country setting with room to run. We have a six acre horse farm in Ravenel, and welcome medium to large adult dogs. A lifelong dog owner with a veterinarian in the family (not local though), we have the knowledge and experience to care for and romp with your dog.

Since I work from home, your dog will receive constant care and supervision except for those times when I might need to run an errand.

We offer a 15% discount for Boeing employees - just show your badge, a multiple dog discount (not applicable if receiving the Boeing discount), complimentary bath during warmer months, kiddie pool swimming, long walks, ball playing and a gift for all first time guest pups.

Y'all come and stay awhile.
**Dogs must be spayed or neutered.

My standard caretaker for my pup was unavailable and I was so concerned about leaving him with a stranger. I never have to but I needed someone soon and for 5 days. Joan welcomed him in to her home and land. She has sprawling acres and fenced in areas where he could play. I believe that he enjoyed himself and liked playing with the other few dogs she was hosting at the time. From the meet / greet to the drop-off to the daily texts, pictures, and videos, to my pick up...everything went smooth and he acclimated back to my home quickly. I think he misses his friends and all the play time he had with Joan:) Overall it was a great experience and I would feel comfortable leaving him with Joan again if needed!! She is very attentive and ensures comfort of both the pups and the owners.

Delighted that I found Joan. No more lonesome kennel stays for my two! This is the place for doggy vacays...great care, beautiful surroundings.
Samson is so loved and cared for with Joan and her family! He comes home happy and tired from all of the play and exercise. I highly recommend Joan!
This is Toogie's home away from home during football season. Love Joan's attention towards her, and we feel so at ease when she is with Joan. Thanks, Joan.
Toogie was a happy camper. She really takes good care of her.
Was afraid our baby wouldn't want to come home with us! Joan does a loving job, & notices even the small things & then checks w/us to make sure they are normal or whatever.
getting into a habit of Toogie's ways. V. Pleased.
Very pleased with Joan. Toogie and she are getting to know each other better each time our doggie is with her. We are confirdent that Toogie is in good hands.
Digger and Duff came home looking happy, relaxed and smelling lovely from their baths the day before. This is their third stay with Joan and her family, and her two dogs Bear and LB, and I think they now think it's their second home! Joan has a lot of dog and horse history so taking care of my two Jack Russells comes very naturally for her. She is also very sweet about sending pictures of the dogs playing together or fetching a ball. We will certainly book with her again!!

Joan is a top rate dog host. She takes such great care of our 17 month old pup. Her dogs are well trained and very well mannered--she handles dogs expertly. Our dog has lots of outdoor time and loves to play with Joan's dogs. I recommend Joan very highly!

Rip and Katie were happy to see me but not overly excited...to me that shows how happy they are with Joan.
This was my second experience leaving the dogs with Joan and I was, once again, very pleased. She and her family are most accommodating and her dogs are welcoming and friendly. Digger and Duff come back very happy. I will be using her again next month for a trip to Puerto Rico.

Excellent experience. Joan spends so much time with our Dutch trying to help us train him and reduce his excess energy. She's the best!
5 STARS! We have an 11 mo. old, 80# Puppy. And she was wonderful with him. He came home a better young pup (thanks to Joan).
Joan was a real find!! She is a delightful lady with years of experience with dogs (and horses). Her home in the country was just what I was looking for for my two Jack Russells and I'm sure the dogs had a great time for the week they were there. Joan treated them as members of the family and they got along well with her two dogs, Bear and LB. My daughter went to pick up Digger and Duff (I was just home from a surgery) and they arrived back with a bag of treats and dog goodies!! I would certainly recommend her to anyone looking for a great country setting for their dogs while they're away and will definitely plan to book with her again.

Joan is an awesome doggy caregiver! Our dog really enjoyed her dogs and he was loved, played with and well cared for by her and her family. When I picked him up, I could tell he was reluctant to leave his vacation and host family. I would highly recommend Joan as a professional, caring and responsible vacay host. This was our first time leaving our pup with anyone outside of family and I wasn't worried at all about his well being.

Another great vacay with Joan! Tank is exhausted, which means he has played and played for the last few days. We're really happy that we have Joan and the family to take care of our big boy when we're gone.
From the time that I first met Joan I was very excited to find a vacay for my dogs where I wasn't at all hesitant to leave them. I looked forward to the pics and text messages she sent daily. The highest compliment that I can give Joan is that when I arrived to pick up my dogs they were enthusiastic to see me but not overpowering with their welcome. They will be spending another week with her in September.

This was our first experience boarding our boy with DogVacay and we were more than happy with our host, Joan, and her family! Joan set up a meet-and-greet to make sure that her dogs and ours all got along (which went very well). Tank is a big boy and their home was a vacation in itself for him. Joan sent us pictures daily so that we knew how he was doing and she took the time to teach him a new trick! Tank is still a puppy and all of their family took part in watching him and loving on him. All I can say, is that I hope Joan and the family decide to host dogs for a long, long time because we feel relieved that we have a place to board him where he has the opportunity to feel "at home".
