About Marnie

14 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I am a certified dog lover. I have been fostering for local dog rescues since 2003. I have been fostering for the current rescue based out of Northville since 2008. This is a mixed breed organization so I have experience with many breeds, energy levels, discipline levels and ages. I currently have one dog of my own a 13 year old Lab Mix and we are also raising a Leader Dog for the Blind. We have fostered dogs of all sorts in the past. We traditionally fostered puppies so we have a ton of experience with potty training, puppy kisses, puppy silliness and their high energy. In addition, I also understand the needs of senior and disabled dogs. I did hospice for one of the rescues dogs, a German Shepherd, that was suffering from demyelination of the spin (a form of MS). He was not adoptable due to his condition. He spent the last year of his life with my family. We provided all the necessary oral medication and set up our home to assist him with his mobility limitations.

When it comes to high energy dogs I believe in the philosophy that a happy dog is a tired dog so walking, running and playing are key strategies while caring for them. Mellow and senior dogs are provided care that best fits their needs. Dogs are family members and are treated with great love and respect in our home.

I have a home office so I am home all day other than having to run errands or a meeting. If your dog prefers having a crate to cuddle up in, I can have that available, otherwise they are welcome in all areas of our home to relax and lounge were they feel most comfortable.

bob loves staying there. he always comes home happy we love the photos that we are sent marnie is the best
Marnie is such a natural with dogs....it's quite obvious how much she loves them! She is very down to earth and super friendly. I liked her immediately upon meeting her! She took great care of our 5 year old goldendoodle recently. She walked him each day and told us funny stories about him upon our return. It's nice she only takes one dog at a time. I almost hate giving her a good review....I don't want anyone else to find out about her...HA!

Absolutely wonderful service!! Friendly, professional and personable. We felt a relief leaving the dogs with Marnie. Will book again soon.
We are so happy and fortunate that Marnie took care of our Pomeranian for two weeks. We've never been away that long and felt completely at ease during our vacation. We were continually updated on how our pup was doing for her entire stay. Marnie is a true dog lover and has a very welcoming home and friendly family. She will definitely be our number one choice in the future to take care of our fur baby!

Cody recently spent two weeks in Marnie's care and we could not be happier! From the first 'meet and greet' I felt very comfortable leaving him there. She is very caring and responsible. I received daily updates and photos. I think he was sad to leave his new friends! I will definitely use her again!

Marnie was so incredibly kind and we could tell she has so much love for dogs. Bentley enjoyed his stay so much he cried on the way home. He really enjoys the walks, playing with Sully and Sky and snuggling with Marnie. She is fantastic and we can't wait for Bentley to visit again! Thanks a million Marnie for taking such good care of our baby!

Marnie was a wonderful host for my 13 months old Aussie Skylar, treating her just as one of her own. It was the first time Skylar spent time away from home and Marnie made the transition easy for both Skylar and me.
Marnie sent frequent updates and fotos, she took long walks with Skylar and I felt comfortable the whole time I was away from home. Back home Skylar was just as happy and mellow as she used to be and I'm sure she missed romping and cuddling with Sully, Marnie's pup.
I'm sure Skylar will stay with Marnie again when I have to go out of town and I would highly recommend Marnie as a wonderful host for your dog.
Thank you very much Marnie!

Excellent! Marnie stayed in touch and sent pictures of our two dogs. I did not feel comfortable putting our 9 and 12 year olds in a kennel. I am so very happy to have found Marnie. I now know that I can go on vacations once again!!
Bob had a wonderful time. He enjoyed romping with Marnies dogs. comes home tired and content. We use her whenever we can Bari &Steve
Marnie is a wonderful puppy host!

Our 140#, 18 month Great Dane stayed with her for a long weekend. She had another Lab in her home that was a wonderful playmate for our puppy, Caymus. When we came back he was happy to see us but sad to leave Marnie and her puppy Zeus. Often when he stays with other families he doesn't eat or drink enough, due to separation anxiety but, he was in tip-top shape when we picked him up indicating his level of comfort while staying in her home.

I will most certainly be allowing Caymus to stay with her the next time we have to go out of town and I would highly recommend Marnie as a Dog Host.

As we have come to expect Marni and her family did an awesome job, treating Fritz as if he were part of thier family. We know Fritz enjoys being with Marni and her family.
Marnie is a fantastic host. I have never left my dog for this long, and when I picked him up I could see how relaxed and content he was. Marnie sent frequent updates and pictures, took the dogs on long walks, and clearly provided a lot of love. She was also flexible when my flight was delayed. I couldn't ask for a better dogvacay experience--she is what one hopes for when using the site. She is a pleasure to deal with, and I trust her completely with my dog. I'm sure he will miss staying in her home. Highly recommend!

This was our first time using DogVacay and our first time leaving our dog with someone who was not family. Marnie was great. She texted us pictures and updates daily. It was nice to know our Bentley was doing very well! We are definitely using Marnie again! Thanks Marnie!

Marnie is absolutely awesome! She is so flexible and our dog is so excited to see her. You can tell she treats all the dogs as if they are her own. I would highly recommend her to everyone!!
This was my second reservation with Marnie and I could not be happier. Marnie is so sweet and the whole family, including their dogs, Sky and Riley, make Carmella one of their own while she's with them. She also couldn't be nicer about accommodating her schedule to ours for drop off and pick up.

In the past, Carmella would come back from stays at the kennel just exhausted (even though I love the owners and all the staff), sometimes horse without any bark at all from being caged during the evening. She would sleep for days; obviously so anxious being away from us, I would feel just terrible. Coming home from Marnie's, she was relaxed, calm and not anxious at all. We'd get pictures of her on sleeping in her special comfy spot on the couch! We're already looking to schedule for a ten day trip in February!

Thank you Marnie (and family) for taking such good care of our baby.

Marnie is an awesome host. She welcomed my dog back and treated him like a long lost member of her pack. I had no doubts that he was receiving love and attention while I was gone.
We felt very comfortable leaving Pepper with Marnie. She kept us informed and you can tell she loves her guest dogs. We will definitely book with Marnie again. She is Super!

Marnie welcomed my dog into her home and took wonderful care of him. It was obvious that she enjoys having canine houseguests. I will certainly be using her services again.
Marni is a great dog sitter and caretaker. My dogs love her as much as me, maybe even more. When I drop them off they can't get to her fast enough and when I pick them up they don't want to leave. Bella and Sammy are in the best of hands when they are with her.

Class act all the way. Clean home, good environment, Marnie made Rambo's first night away as stress-less as possible. I truly couldn't have asked for anything or anyone any better. From the first email, to the meet and greet, to the actual overnight stay, Marnie was responsive, professional and I never once had any trepidation about leaving my dog with her, which is saying A LOT because I am about as neurotic as you can get. Just an overall wonderful experience.

Marnie was a perfect host for our energetic dog, Wilma. Wilma requires a great deal of attention and exercise, paired with equal amounts of affection and discipline. Marnie was up to the challenge and gave Wilma a great temporary home for almost an entire week. Thanks, Marnie!

Our dog Wilson absolutely loves to "vacay" with Marnie and her family!! Marnie provides excellent , loving care and makes Wilson feel like one of the family during his stays. I love receiving her texts and photo updates about how he is doing. We will continue to ask Marnie to care for our little dog, knowing that we can leave him and not worry about him while we are away from home!!

Marnie is loving, kind and exactly the person you want to leave your pet with. The only thing you might worry about is whether your pet wants to return home with you. She is the best!!!!!!
Our experience with Marnie was excellent. She kept us informed on Rita stay with them, sent a picture every day of Rita's status ( walks / just handing out ) which help us to relax knowing she was being well cared for and loved.

We will use Marnie again on our next need for dog care. She truly provided excellent care and support to help us relax and focus on our travel.

Marnie and her family ( husband and son ) are extremely nice people and provide a excellent environment for our dog.

Thank you Marnie for your care of Rita and especially putting up with our long drawn out stories
( just shows what a patience person you are..: )

You don't need to take your dog to a kennel ever again. Marnie was an excellent guardian for our dog Casey. Casey was walked regularly and extremely well taken care of. She stayed with the family and participated like their own. Marnie sent us a daily text note and picture while we were on vacation. Very Highly Recommended !!!

Marnie went above and beyond to make my pups feel relaxed and secure during their stay. They went for walks, went to the lake, made lots of new friends, and came home relaxed and took a nice little nap in the car on their way home. I will definetly use Marnie anytime I need someone to care for my pups.
