I'm Shelley, life-long animal lover. I work from home and so have lots of time and attention to devote to your pet. I have always been very involved in rescue and animal rights nonprofit organizations.
I had my first dog, Muffin, when I was 6. My most recent dog, beloved border collie Cleo, passed away last year at the age of 13. Since then I have done a lot of dog sitting, and volunteered/fostered dogs for Austin Dog Rescue. Most recently, in January 2015, I adopted a dog through ADR. She is a 14-pound shih tzu, Selma, who loves other animals. I also have a resident cat and so any dogs staying in my home need to be cat friendly.
I have extensive experience caring for my own animals and others. I am a registered, approved foster care provider with both Austin Pets Alive and Austin Dog Rescue.
I am available for keeping your dog in my condo overnight, or traveling to your Central Austin home to care for your dog or cat (within 5 miles of downtown).
My condo is an 800 square foot urban loft, 1 mile east of downtown off 6th Street. I do not have a private yard as it is not a house, but the condo complex has a private, extremely large courtyard that is 100% gated and secure, for walks and play and outside time. I work from home, so am here most of the day to give your furry family member plenty of attention.
I will care for your dog or cat as if they were my own.
