About Lisa

15 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
At Casa de Louie we do our best to make your pet feel right at home and welcome them into our family during their stay.

I have over 15 years experience caring for, training, fostering and boarding dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes and temperaments. I ran the puppy socialization and training program at the SPCA of Tompkins County for over 7 years and have extensive experience using only positive training methods to help dogs with behavior issues. I also am experienced caring for dogs with special medical needs. For fun, I am an avid agility enthusiast and have some training equipment at home that your dog can explore!

I have 2 well behaved and friendly pups of my own; Sophie (13 year old pug now experiencing mobility challenges) and Chloe (10 year old jrt/beagle); who welcome our guests and new playmates. There is also 1 very dog friendly cat, Buddha, who has full access to the house and yard and our newest family member, Otter, who is a young kitten and still learning the ropes. Needless to say we require all guests to have previous peaceful experiences with kitties.

Our home is modest, quiet, cozy, safe and very dog friendly. While I'm home your pet will be part of the family and have access to the house and fenced in yard with doggy door, just like my own dogs. While I'm out the animals are separated and your pet will have the option of staying wherever s/he is most comfortable whether that be in a blanketed crate, a comfy personal space or loose in their own bedroom.

I ask that our visitors come with their own dog bed or blanket that they're used to and smells like home. They will have the option of sleeping wherever they are most comfortable as well. The majority choose to sleep in my bedroom with us and some even join us on the bed. :)

We have a 100' x 80' fenced in yard which the dogs love! It's a great place for games of fetch and chase! There are also areas with wood piles and tall grass; perfect for sniffing and hunting. We have two different size kiddie pools for dips on hot summer days. And of course relaxing and lounging about is a great option too!

I do work away from home so during the week pets are left indoors for 4 or 5 hours at a time. I come home at lunchtime to get everyone out for a potty break and play session. Weekend time is always devoted to the pups. Your dog will be fed his/her own food provided by you at feeding times you define. Treats offered are healthy and often homemade. Playtime, walks, toys, treats and Premium Pet Insurance are all included at no extra charge. I love sharing their experiences and send frequent photos, texts and email updates.

Casa de Louie is conveniently located 5 miles from downtown Ithaca. All dogs of any age or breed, who are dog friendly and also cat friendly, are welcome. We do require an initial meet-n-greet prior to your first stay just to make sure everyone gets along ok. This also gives your dogs a chance to check out the environment prior to his/her stay. Your pup must be up to date on all vaccinations and flea/tick treatments.

Please send an email if you have any questions. And if you have more than one pet ask about our multi-pet discount and cat care too!

Looking forward to meeting you and having your pets stay at Casa de Louie!

Lisa took excellent care of my dear Rusty! He was spoiled rotten, just like at home. Thank you!
Another great stay for my dog. She now gets so excited when we pull up to Lisa's that I can barely get the car door open before she is running for the house. Lisa takes excellent care of her and I never worry or feel like I have to rush back home to rescue her.

My dog has stayed with Lisa on several occasions. Lisa is very easy to work with and my dog loves staying with her.
I was visiting the area & attending a daytime family event. I left my 9yo dog with Lisa, her 2 pups and 1 boarder for 4 daytime hours. My dog had a great time in her fenced back yard & appeared not too thrilled by my return. A very successful play date. I highly recommend Lisa.

Came back to us happy and exhausted from playing all weekend!
Lisa is absolutely fantastic! I have asked her to watch my two pups for a few small trips now, and she has always been available and wonderful. Recently, I asked her to watch them for a spontaneous trip planned less than 24 hours in advance and she replied quickly with a yes! I am so thankful she is in our area and would recommend her to anyone looking for a "home away from home" for their pups.

Lisa did a great job helping Boo adjust to the new environment and I felt confident leaving him in her care. He seems smitten :)
Lisa really connected with Frida's needs and provided a fun and safe home away from home. I lived seeing the photos of our dogs joyfully speeding around the yard together.
My dog's stay at Lisa's far exceeded my expectations. Not only did she provide a safe and appropriate environment but she welcomed my 5 year old lab mix into her home like one of her own. While away, I received pictures and updates which allowed me to relax knowing that my baby was in good hands. Lisa has experience with all types of dogs and I will hopefully always be able to make my reservations with her.

Lisa was a fantastic caregiver for Frida! She's knowledgeable and sensitive about dogs and their personalities, and provided a safe and FUN FUN FUN experience during the week we were away. Frida came back to us happy, and very well exercised, having gone on walks, played in the yard with other dogs, and learned some agility skills. I loved getting photos of the day's adventures, which was especially important since this was our first time leaving our dog with Lisa.

Lisa is professional, competent, warm and easy going. It is apparent that she is an experienced and caring dog sitter and pet owner. Thank you for taking good care of Petey
Lisa was absolutely amazing with our little pug. He was exhausted for days after playing at her house for a night!
Lisa was fantastic with our English Mastiff, Duke. He's 9 months old, over 100 pounds and full of energy. He was very happy and really enjoyed playing in her back yard with the other dogs and lots of toys. She sent pictures and kept us updated while we were gone for a week. He usually sleeps with us, so she even slept in the spare room with him when he was adjusting to his home away from home. We will definitely have him stay in the future. Thank you, Lisa, for taking such great care of our boy. You will be very highly recommended!

Although our dog Lucy has bee known to have separation anxiety, she is very familiar with Lisa and her home and does not seem anxious when we leave her there. Lucy was happy to go to Lisa's and did a happy dance on her doorstep!

Lisa was also kind enough to drop off Lucy at our home and was flexible about when we returned (which was a little earlier than initially anticipated.)

Lisa was kind, warm, attentive, and informative. Our dog Baxter looked engaged and happy in the several photos that she sent to us. Thank you, Lisa.
I loved the pictures! And felt completely comfortable leaving my dog there for a few days! It was such a relief to know he was having a blast and in good hands.
Lisa was great! There was plenty of room for our dog to run around and have fun at Lisa's property, and he came home tired and happy!

She was also willing to accommodate our somewhat difficult travel schedule, which really helped to make the process easy.

Boone had an awesome vacation with Lisa while I went away for a few days. This was an incredibly seamless experience. I had such peace of mind knowing how well he was being cared for, which made my vacation that much better as well :) The photos and updates were such a joy to receive. Thank you Lisa! Will definitely be contacting again for trips in the future.

We had not been away from Lindsey for 2 years. We were pleased to see her so content when we picked her up from Lisa's!
It was our first Dog Vacay experience at Lisa's home; my pet Dragon came back to us very happy and tired out!
We were very satisfied with Lisa's service: personable, easy going and patient. Her prompt email update with pictures really gave us the peace of mind as Dragon seldom went boarding without her brother. Thanks again Lisa - hope we would use your service again.

5 Pawsome Lisa!

Lisa was so friendly and welcoming in her home. Huge back yard. Completely fenced in. Our chocolate lab was in her glory. Still playing when we picked her up. She didn't want to leave. We'll definitely be back.
Lisa is very warm, accommodating, and professional. We left our dog with her for a week. Our dog gets separation anxiety, but Lisa made her feel right at home. She sent lovely photos and updates. It was obvious that our dog had lots of fun and grew very comfortable staying at Lisa's house. We plan to contact her the next time we leave town.

Great Dog Sitter!
Thanks Lisa!
Both our dogs and our special needs kitty had a great time at Lisa's. Lisa does a great job taking care of our crew and I wouldn't hesitate to leave them with her again the next time we are out of town.
My dog, Cyrus was thrilled to spend time at Lisa's. He was obviously very well cared for, and he got to play with some good doggy friends. Lisa was very flexible with dropping Cyrus off. She was fun and caring.
Doggies came back happy and relaxed after a week with Lisa. They even made friends with Lisa's kitties although they had never interacted with cats. We liked the photo updates of the doggies too! Thanks Lisa!
Buddy had a terrific time at Lisa's. She sent some photos that showed him hard at play! I know our Buddy is in good hands when we're away. I give Lisa my highest recommendation.
My experience with Lisa was awesome! She is such a dog lover who is also so willing to work with the owners anyway she can. Whether it is the pickup/drop off times or special needs of your dogs she is willing to accommodate. Also, her house is perfect for dogs! She has plenty of toys and treats along with a doggy door and large fenced in backyard. Lisa also sent me pictures daily to show me how much fun my Tucker was having. I will most assuredly be taking Tucker back here to visit her and her friendly playful dogs.

As always, our dogs were very happy at Lisa's!
Country setting, fenced-in yard, dog door, camera, photo updates...convinced yet? Lisa's house is totally dog-friendly, and she is too! Friendly, adaptable, gave Buttercup some necessary meds and special food, the works.
Buttercup had a wonderful week at Lisa's, palling around outside with Sophie and Chloe, Lisa's dogs. It truly was a vacay for Buttercup!

Buddy, our 7 month old Goldendoodle, loves Lisa D. Her home is perfect for dogs, and she clearly loves dogs. I highly recommend Lisa!
Lisa is always wonderful. She is my go to when I'm going out of town (which is unfortunately frequent). She's responsive and always updates me which makes me feel only slightly less guilty.
Lisa is always so wonderful with my two dogs. They have now stayed with her twice, once for 3 weeks, the other for just 3 days. Both times the dogs were excited to go and loved the toys that she has for them. She sent me regular updates which eased my guilt for not taking them with me because I could see that they were having a great time. She also has a nice fenced in back yard which is wonderful for them so they can go out side when ever they need to. She is also very accommodating! Both times we were late in returning (delayed flight and traffic) and she was flexible with when we picked them up. Thank you for all your help Lisa!

Lots of love to our pup and lots of updates to comfort us. Our dog came back so happy!
Lisa hosted our mastiff, Buck, at her home this past weekend. She responded promptly to my inquiry and was accommodating during our drop off. She communicated with us each evening sending us photos and updates letting us know how well he was adjusting to his vacation and new found friends.

Lisa is incredibly reliable, caring and responsive.

You can see that taking care of dogs is a passion of hers and we are so very grateful she was able to take Buck in as if he were one of her own.

Thanks so much for everything, Lisa!
